Alpha Psi Omega the National Theatre Honor Society has been active at Marietta College since 1937. Meet our 23-24 APO President Antigone Lautar Hall and learn a bit about the 18th Annual New Plays In One Day Festival!

Antigone is a senior in getting their BFA in Theatre-Performance, but Music has always been a big part of their life. Growing up, their Grandma always had music playing in the house and they began playing viola in 4th grade. They are also very active in the Music Department at MC and play in Jazz Ensemble. Their love for both Theatre and Music has inspired the theme of this year’s NPIOD festival.

The short plays performed at NPIOD are written overnight by students and alum. “This year’s writing theme is Music. The writers will shuffle music from a playlist twice and get to choose which song title or lyrics inspire them”.

Current Students and Alum come together to write, rehearse, design, and produce plays in 24 hours! Come see the performances this Sat at 8pm.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! Our cast and crew have been working overtime to move our production from Muskingum Park to the outside of the Hermann Fine Arts Center at Marietta College!!!! We have a special encore performance tonight at 8pm and we are inviting alumni, friends, and our theatre family to join us for this special performance!

Thank you again to everyone who has made this record-breaking production possible, including our MC season sponsor Over the Moon Pub & Pizza!

Only a few more days until our ENCORE performance of Into The Woods! We are inviting all of you to join us one more time this Friday at 8pm on the campus of Marietta College for this very special performance!

Artistic Director Andy Felt stepped “Into the Woods” as the Mysterious Man in our fall production of the show.

When asked why the department decided to remount the production on the steps of Hermann for Homecoming weekend, he explained, “We put in a lot of hard work as a department for several months to create this amazing show, and only got two and a half performances out of it. I’ve always wanted to do a show in front of Hermann, and having the chance for alumni to see the work we are doing as a department when they normally wouldn’t is great!”

He hopes “even if you can’t stay for the whole show, that as you pass by Hermann you’re able to stop and take in and catch a couple of songs.”

Come see Andy Felt as the Mysterious Man in our encore this Friday at 8:00PM on the steps of Hermann!

WE HAVE SOME BIG NEWS!!!!

INTO THE WOODS WILL BE BACK FOR ONE MORE PERFORMANCE!!!!

We are excited to announce that we will be doing a very special performance of Into The Woods on October 14, 2022 on the campus at Marietta College!

We want to invite the public and MC alumni for this very special show, which will be outdoors, and FREE in front of the Hermann Fine Arts Center on the college campus. Bring a blanket or chair and have a seat on “Gilman Hill” and there will be some seating available as well!

So, we hope to see you all there for this special show! Into The Woods will start at 8pm!

With the sudden weather tonight we were unable to finish our final night of Into The Woods…. But never fear, because we have some exciting news we will be sharing soon regarding the show!

We want to thank Marietta College, The Theatre at Marietta College, the city of Marietta, our season sponsor Over the Moon Pub & Pizza, our amazing and dedicated cast, crew, and production team, and of course ALL OF YOU!!! Even if closing night was a slight washout we still broke records left and right, with over 1200 of you joining us in the park this weekend!!!! That’s not just a one-weekend record…. IT’S OUR NEW FESTIVAL RECORD!!!! Thank you all sooooo much and stay tuned for some crazy news about Into The Woods and our plans for 2023!!!!!!

OVER 800!!!!! THANK YOU MARIETTA!!! WE DOUBLED OUR BIGGEST HOUSE EVER!!!! (We also had 17 puppers in the audience tonight, another new record)

Sunday night will be your last chance to see us in the park this season, so don’t miss out!!!!

So…. We know it’s May, and we won’t be coming back to the park until September…. But really it’s not that far off….

Our intrepid design team for INTO THE WOODS was in the park today to get ideas as we prepare to bring our first full musical to Muskingum Park!!

That’s right, this year we will be putting up our first musical, and as always it’s free!!!
