Join the Suffolk County Radio Club this Saturday and Sunday June 22nd and 23rd for our Field Day at the historic Tesla Center at 5 Randall rd. Shoreham NY 11786. Field Day is a contest to see how many contacts you can make in a certain time period. If you would like to get on the Air and talk all over the world come on down and give it a try, no License needed. Stop down and see what being a Ham operator is all about. Contest starts at 2pm on Saturday and ends 2pm on Sunday. See you there......

We will be participating in the Eclipse Event on April 8 at the Mastic Moriches Shirley Community Library, located at 201 Montauk Hwy, Moriches, NY. Setup will start at 9AM. We'll be making contacts before, during and after the eclipse and then sending our log to the HamSci organization who will (with other scientific groups such as NASA) analyze the effects of this rare astronomical event on radio propagation. Long distance HF (high frequency) contacts are made possible by reflecting signals off of the ionosphere. This layer of the atmosphere is created by solar radiation which, of course, will be blocked by the moon during the eclipse.

There will be a meeting of the Suffolk County Radio Club this Monday February 26th at Longwood Youth Center at 210 Meadows Dr. East Yaphank. It's by the new Walmart in Yaphank, second traffic circle ,first left. The meeting starts at 7pm, we have a guest speaker on the April Eclipse and what we could expect from it.

The Suffolk County Radio Club will be operating Winter Field Day on Saturday January 27th at the Longwood Youth Sports Complex 210 Boulevard W, Yaphank, NY (near the new Walmart). The SCRC Communications Trailer will be making its debut!
