Great for all ages

Yesterday I was visiting my son's school
I see a bright colored bench in the yard. I asked if this was the only place to sit.
- And he said to me, ′′ No, that's the bench of friends. When someone is lonely or can't find a play partner, they'll sit there and others invite them to play with them."
- I tell him I thought this was great, and I asked him if he used it himself?
- He says: ′′ Yes at the beginning of the year when I was new here.
I sat there and another student came to invite me to play with him. This made me happy. And now when I see someone sitting there, I also invite them to play."
Great idea on mutual aid and kindness to implement in all playgrounds!

Our Story

The Butler Longhorn Museum is a historical destination that provides for public and private tours, family reunions, corporate events, and a unique wedding venue.

Think of Texas, and you think of Longhorns: ponderous cattle with horns as wide as a man is tall. From the western art of Charles M. Russell to the University of Texas mascot, the Longhorn is synonymous with Texas and its long ranching history. Yet few Texans or visitors to this state realize that at the beginning of the 20th century, Longhorns were on the verge of extinction. By the mid-1920s, in fact, buffalo outnumbered Longhorns ̶ an especially remarkable statistic given that just 40 years previous, the North American Longhorn population was estimated at 40,000 head. Today, the Longhorn is alive and well thanks to the efforts of six pioneer breeders and a few far-sighted federal employees, who refused to allow these animals to become extinct. The Butler Longhorn Museum tells the story of this amazing comeback, and in doing so, tells a compelling chapter in the story of the American West.
