McQueeney Lions Club meets every first Tuesday of the month at the Hall. If you are interested in learning more about them and the ways they help our community, join us tonight at 6pm.

Communities in schools came to the Lions Club meeting on Tuesday to tell us what they can do for kids. McQueeney Lions presented them a check for $1000.

We hold Bingo every Thursday night to raise the money to donate to programs like this.

Congratulations Maddox Hoover who received a scholarship from McQueeney Lions Club and graduated today from High School in Missouri. Maddox is the grandson of Lion Victor Contreras.

Tonight McQueeney Lions Club presented 4 Navarro High School Seniors with scholarships. Recipients were Kenize Koenig, Sienna Kramer, Ava Clark and Jackson Elley. The scholarships were each $2000. Presenting the scholarships was Donna Castillo.

Last night McQueeney Lions Club presented 4 Seguin High School Seniors scholarships at the Senior Awards Ceremony. Recipients are Harley Thornton, Ily Stamm, Isabella Guerra, and Blake Schneider. Donna Castillo and Toni Winters were there to present the scholarships. They were each $2000.

McQueeney Lions Club is accepting applications for scholarships for seniors from Seguin High School, Marion High School and Navarro High School. Go to mcqueeneylionsclub.org and fill out the online application. Applications are due on April 1st.

At the Tuesday night meeting, Leonard Sosa, president presented Judy Griffin, treasurer with a plaque to show how much the club appreciates all her hard work and dedication during the past year. Judy is a true Lion and we are so glad to have her in our club.

Last night, Sheriff Arnold Zwicke and Chief Deputy Joshua Ray had the privilege of being guest speakers at the McQueeney Lions Club. Following the presentation the Lions Club presented Sheriff Zwicke with a monetary donation to the Sheriff's Office.

Law Enforcement is a team effort between those who carry the badge and the community we serve. We are thankful for the donation and tremendous support, the Sheriff's Office gets from the citizens of Guadalupe County.

Last night Toni Winters and Donna Castillo presented 4 Navarro High School seniors scholarships. Recipients were Caleb Hagar, Bryce Nall, Auburn Frost and Sofia Salazar. Each scholarship is $2000. Lions members are awarding 17 seniors scholarships totaling $34,000.

Hey Bingo Players! Do you like the frito pie and chili dogs on our menu? This outstanding chili is donated to us from the Texas Ladies State Chili Cook-off each year. The cook-off this year is next Saturday, April 15 at the Starke Park Pat King Pavillion. They need judges! Don't worry if you have never been a judge, they will tell you everything you need to know. It's a lot of fun and the chili is delicious. Please register at TLSCCO.COM, or just come by April 15 at 12:30 and sign up. Thank you!

McQueeney Lions Club held its annual Christmas Party last week and members brought toys for the Blue Santa program. Merry Christmas!
