With the year coming to an end and thanks to all of you who supported this mission, we sold 588 jars of Five-O Tailgaters Thin Blue Line Seasoning at Zuppardo's Family Market. As planned $1.00 dollar of every jar sold would go towards training and equipment for Law Enforcement. As promised, I would match the first years total and today provided a check to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for $1,176.00.

September 26, at 11:00 am, we will be selling jambalaya to support the Achee Family. To go dinners will be served from St. Edward the Confessor’s cafeteria at the corner of Transcontinental and West Metairie (See the attached flier).

The Achee family were returning from Houston and were struck from behind by an 18 wheeler in West Baton Rouge Parish. Perry and Patrick sustained multiple burn wounds, but Timmy did not survive the accident. Timmy was 29 years old and a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School and LSU.

With BBQ season approaching, and me starting a new job I can finally say what my intention was with the seasoning. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office welcomed me on December 13th, 1990. Myself and others who are partnered with me want to “give back” to an organization that stood with me for 30 years. With every jar of Five-O Tailgaters Seasoning sold, JPSO will receive $1.00 from every sale. Myself and my partner are not looking to make one single penny from this. All money will be put towards equipment and training for JPSO. I plan on matching the first years sales, minus the costs of getting this started, and challenge my friends to make a donation to support JPSO and Sheriff Lopinto!

This Brisket is getting ready for the smoker and Super Bowl Sunday. Some people trim their brisket before putting it on the smoker...You actually want to to cook it “fat” side up. All of that “flava” cooks directly into the meat.
