Since 2017, we’ve invested every cent into 5020 West Vliet Street, a former heating company and garage that turns 103 this year. At first, we just wanted to open a vintage store up front. But after getting married in back, we decided to open a venue as well. Seven years of operating both businesses ourselves while selling our house, changing occupancies, overhauling the interior, living in an office, showering in a mop sink, having two babies in two tiny apartments, and slapping a house on the roof for the fam later, and we could use a little jump-start!
In part, to break ground on our planned outdoor extension of the venue — and then to put a dent in a bunch of “where the #$!@~! did those come from” bills. (Shoutout to WE Energies for topping the list with the $40,000 wedgie out of nowhere.)
But we’d never ask for something without working for it, so have a look at our three offers when visiting the campaign page (link in profile), the first two through Indiegogo and the third through us:
- Heavily discounted non-profit event funding
- Store credit incentives
The third? 50% OFF WEDDINGS IN 2024!
Anyway, thanks so much for checkin’ it out! Whatever happens with this campaign, we are committed to our corner of Vliet Street. Dandy has always been an owner-employed business, but it’s also our home now, so we’re excited to continue investing in Washington Heights for years to come.
Love, Ryan + Jess
Lamp of Your Dreams. Furry and opulent. Three-way lighting, either lamp, base, or both with each toggle. Great shape for furriness, plenty of weight to it. About 38” tall, 16” across on the shade. $285 - link in profile to claim.
Rattan and Vinyl Couch w/ Side Table. PLUMP. Is this an attractive marketing term? They use it for hot dogs. Good structure to the cushions overall, but you’ll see that the former owner had a thick piece of cardboard underneath for added support. Can’t see it, it works, it can be our secret. Minor age here and there. About 74” long, 21” to the back, 17” to the seat, 31” tall. Table is about 20” x 20”, 17” tall. $650 for set - link in profile to claim.
Kneeling Dude Carved Side Table. Complete with patina/mystery. Could paint it, though I dig the look on this one. Some age here and there on the glass, though nothing dangerous (pictured). 18.75” x 20” on glass, 20.5” tall. $350 – link in profile to claim / get more looks.
Quilted Floral Wingback Chair Set (2). Eclectic video-podcast furnishings, cir. ‘60s. Pretty tight with the stitched design, not much else aside from some standard age in the legs. 32.5” wide, 19” to the back, 18” to the seat, 51” tall. $350 for set - link in profile to claim.
Shorty Mid-Century Hutch on Pins. Don’t always see these this short, but certainly an opportunity to put stuff on top in a different sort of way! (Or you could just order 16” pins on Amazon, they aren’t terribly expensive.) Great shape, light age here and there, nothing of note. 54.25” wide, 48” tall, about 17” deep, about 15”/13”/11” from bottom to top height between shelves. $450 - link in bio to claim.
Now that we’re done watching Usher, we can tune in to a clooooothing saaaaale!! Head to our stories right now to shop!
