The Milwaukee Community Circus is about having fun, developing talent, and teaching the mystique arts of the circus performer. We’re talking stilt walking, magic, juggling, clowning, mime, aerial arts, Physical Comedy, burlesque, makeup, breakdancing, and even firespinning. Don’t let that last one worry you—the class teachers know what they’re doing. The classes and workshops will be led by both l
ocal talent and traveling experts coming through town. MCC founder Geoff Marsh has been doing the circus thing for almost 10 years and is constantly performing around town. He’s a member of the local circus troupe, which has become a beloved Milwaukee institution. Of course we have Classes geared towards Adults as well as children's circus classes for ages 6 and up teach kids foundational circus performance skills while building life-enhancing skills like self-confidence, responsibility, poise, teamwork and self-discipline. MCC students improve their coordination, balance, strength, conditioning and overall fitness in an exciting, fun, and positive manner. Workshops and classes will be centered at Bucketworks (706 S. 5th Street) which is a space that celebrates creativity, although some of the programs might take place elsewhere—The Miramar Theater (2844 N Oakland Ave )and Local parks on a nice day for some extra elbow room, for example. Classes are set to begin in mid-May. This is your opportunity to do something fantastical this summer. Learn skills that will impress your friends, entertain your family, and make your enemies green with envy! Keep an eye on www.milwaukeecommunitycircus.com for more details and a class schedule.
