Tomorrow is Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

One of the largest and longest-running Juneteenth celebrations in the country, the Juneteenth Jubilation Parade will kick off tomorrow at 9 a.m., starting on 14th and Atkinson.

Now in its 53rd year, the festival brings over 50,000 people together through food, music, art, and education.

Hosting an event for 1,100 guests is no small feat. Levy, our in-house food and beverage partner, rose to the occasion, showcasing their bold, proud and experience obsessed culinary services. 🌟

Working at Baird Center means you are part of a dynamic and supportive team! ✨ This was in full evidence this week. A full month of making sure staff understands the importance of taking time for self-care as part of Mental Health Awareness Month wrapped up with guided painting sessions led by Wellspring Guided Art. We loved seeing our team unleash their creativity, find joy and share a therapeutic activity!

The bonding continued as we cheered on our colleagues participating in the Greater Milwaukee Hotel & Lodging Association's annual volleyball tournament. While the event featured some good natured competition, it was the Milwaukee hospitality industry's shared passion for our city that took center stage.

APFC makes its return to Milwaukee for its first ever Saturday event on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th. MMA legend and former UFC World Champion Anthony "Showtime" Pettis presents another exciting night of live MMA featuring the very best the Midwest has to offer.

APFC Fight Fiesta is APFC's first ever Latino MMA showcase featuring the very best up-and-coming Latin stars from across the United States against some of the Midwest's toughest prospects. This event will be hosted by UFC superstars Jose Aldo and Marlon "Chito" Vera.

41 original pieces of art are featured in our expanded and modernized convention center. The artwork is part of the We Energies Foundation Collection, a name that was established as part of a new partnership between Wisconsin Center District and the We Energies Foundation. The collection features art that portray the characteristics, culture, people and landscapes of Milwaukee and the surrounding region. Every piece tells the story of Milwaukee and Wisconsin's past triumphs, struggles, exciting present and hope for the future.
