Friends, I've been so busy with life and bo***ir that I haven't updated. Life gets busy, and focus is better than social media. Facts! I will do absolutely anything for my clients. I’m literally crouched down, leaning my body against an Uber to get this shot. This was the first time I worked with cold sparklers, and I look forward to the next time for sure. This lovely wedding took place at , and Dallas and Jamie’s nuptials made our debut at the venue. The staff is straightforward and professional.
On top of that, the venue and, precisely, the ceremony locations are gorgeous. I look forward to working at the Nashville Opera House again soon! We also worked with one of our vendor friends from Atlanta ! They brought some vendors from Atlanta. One important vendor is music, and the DJ killed it. There’s nothing more I need towards the end of a 12-hour day than incredible music. Cheers to Jamie and Dallas!

Happy Mother's Day! I love this moment between the Mother of the Bride and her daughter. I like to give the mother and the bride a moment together before her father comes in to see her first time! When you hire me as your wedding photographer, you get 15 years of photography experience and a master scheduler. Time-management skills are the most important things to look for when choosing a photographer. You have to plan and anticipate every second to let moments like these happen naturally.

You may have heard this story if you've been following me for a while or ever asked me the wildest thing I've experienced as a wedding photographer. Here is the story of Wedding Photographers Can't Call Out, No Matter How Bad You Feel.

The story starts with a bride and groom traveling to Atlanta from Cali for their engagement session. Bowie and I took the entire weekend off to pick the best weather-wise for this session. Saturday was cloudy, and the bride and I decided Sunday would be the better option. However, the weather on Sunday called for mostly sunny skies! Sounds pretty vanilla, right? WRONG! Our luck ran out around 11:00 pm Saturday. Bowie and I got a big case of THE STOMACH FLU out of nowhere! The sickness was so bad that at 2:00 am Sunday, Bowie had to rush out and purchase over-the-counter anti-puke meds. He's much better at holding it in, and I couldn't even keep water down. We did not sleep a wink that night.

On the way to the session, I cried. We planned to shoot in two locations. We made it through about 40 mins at the park without letting on that we were sick. We warned the bride and groom that we were ill, and we used all of our long lenses to stay as far away as possible. We finished the park session and moved to West Provisions in Atlanta. I sat in the back seat of our car and balled like a baby the entire drive. As soon as we made it to the following location, I confessed to the couple that we were so sick that we didn't know how much longer we could make it. So we finished the session and went home to rest.

A few weeks later, when I delivered their session, I was worried when I received a phone call from the Bride's mother. Pleasantly surprised, the MOB told me how excited and confident they were about hiring me as their wedding photographer. The Bride's mom went on to say that if this was what I produced when I was sick, they had complete confidence in my ability to create magic when I felt well!

The moral of this story: Show Up, no matter what! Do your job to the best of your ability, and you'll be surprised by what you can do and how impressive you can be even when you have extreme muscle aches and are about to puke on everyone.

Some people say Cinco de Mayo, others Revenge of the 5th. It's another Star Wars Day! This day (and maybe tomorrow) celebrates the Dark Side of the Force. Here is a double exposure that I cheated and created in Photoshop rather than in camera. I'm still learning how to create a double exposure in my Canon 5D. I don't typically create images like this, but I loved the fire in the hearts of these two and the toasty fireplace at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee. It was a very chilly wedding day! Happy Dark Side Day!

It's May 4th, as in May-the-Force-be-with-you! I'm shocked that I've not shot a Star Wars-themed wedding or engagement session after all these years! I searched far into the archives, and I found nothing. But in honor of all the lightsabers, I post the most colorful detail image to date. I created this by lighting up a pair of rhinestone boots and shooting the earrings with a low aperture. I'm obsessed with color and sparkle, and those boots had it all. Wedding Details Wednesday Give me all the sparkle, please! This ring shot is one of my favorites; I created the backdrop of this picture from a pair of rhinestone boots! Add a little off-camera flash, and voila! A lot of my brides wear rhinestone or glittery shoes. I wonder if they know how obsessed I am?

Some people in this world you know will always be there for you, with a smile, a hug, a place to sleep, and the emotional maturity to help you in your time of need. I'm thankful for a lasting friendship that brought a fantastic friend, mother, and soul sister into my life. I'm grateful for both of you more than you'll ever know. Hopefully, the next time we see each other, I won't cry! Thank you so much for a shoulder to cry on, a place to escape filled with laughter, crazy cat moments, and a place where I don't have to apologize for feeling all life's emotions. I'm so lucky to be a part of your life after all these years!

Today is World Book Day or International Day of the Book if-ya-nasty. So is there a better way to celebrate my favorite pastime than featuring a beautiful fusion wedding in the gorgeous library at Agnes Scott College Special Events & Conferences? Agnes Scott is still one of my favorite places to shoot in the Atlanta area. The grounds are stunning. The chapel is beautiful, and the Gothic-Victorian-themed architecture makes this venue a unique choice for any wedding!

I (Sharon) moved from Savannah to North Georgia to attend college. I met Bowie at my first job in a new city. Bowie busted through the door and instantly met my gaze. I’ll never forget the look on his face; a slightly embarrassed grin as he was late on his first day. That moment, seeming so mundane was the beginning of our lives together. I later joined Bowie at Piedmont College and explored the art world after a failed attempt at science, a subject I still love to read about today. I chose Graphic Design as my major and took all the photography classes offered each year. Bowie had already established himself as a leader in Mass Communications department, with a focus on Documentary Film Making when I joined him at Piedmont College. As time passed, my passion for graphic design and photography grew as did my love for Bowie. We were married at Piedmont College in June of 2004.

After graduation and working in the corporate world, Bowie and I grew tired of our conventional jobs. We longed to be together and desired to do something worthwhile and exciting. Our background in photography and videography with a passion for working with people, lead Team Wheaton to shoot weddings. We shot our first wedding together in 2009 and the rest is history!

Our style is modern, dramatic and energetic. Bowie’s background in documentary videography shapes the story in front of his lens; however, my design education influences the way I approach each shot. Our main goal on your wedding day is to photography organic moments, with light direction. We want to capture you, in your most natural form.
