After 35 years planning weddings, I would like to lend some advice to my newly engaged couples!
1. Breathe - Remember planning a wedding can be challenging. Pace yourself. You are not just planning this glorious day, but you are planning a lifetime together. Don't get so caught in this one day, that you lose focus on the reason for the day.
2. Set a budget! Weddings these days can average from $10,000 to $1,000,000! The goal is not to go in debt over this one day. You have to live after the honeymoon is over.
3. I suggest hiring a seasoned, professional wedding planner to ease some of the load and keep you on budget. A good wedding planner has already established themselves with vendors and knows how to get the best bang for your budget.

He got down on one knee and looked into her waterfilled eyes. His hands were trembling slightly as he opened the box and presented the love of his life a beautiful, radiant, diamond ring.

She said, "YES" before he could even ask the question. They had dated for several years, and though she was longing for the question, she never forced the issue. She waited patiently for God to form him and she allowed him grace to become the man that knelt before her.

"Would you at least let me ask you?", he said in a gently masculine voice.

She was so excited, she could barely contain herself, but she yielded to his voice allowing him the privilege of asking for her hand in marriage. At her acceptance, they passionately kissed and walked off into the sunset.

Now what?

Here's my advice to newly engaged couples:

Communication is key more than ever. As you begin to plan your life together, it becomes critical to be honest about your expectations, your future plans, and lay out any concerns you may have before you say, "I DO."
