Southerns started 5 years ago with a tent, a fryer and a dream, eventually expanding to 3 food trucks and now a restaurant where you’ll be able to get all the delicious fried chicken you’ve come to know and love in addition to burgers, cracklins, and more. Part of the success of the National Fried Chicken Festival is the way it presents so many different possibilities around one idea, from traditional to creative to influences from different cultures, and also how it showcases a diverse range of vendors.

Now the same event producers have a new festival called Brews, Boils & Bubbles, taking the same approach to the boiling pot. The fest debuts on the New Orleans lakefront this weekend, Saturday, May 11.

Yesterday, we learned that one of New Orleans Police Department's finest and a huge supporter/friend of FCF was diagnosed with breast cancer. We hope you’ll join us in sending Officer Nippie lots of love, prayers and words of encouragement as she continues to serve and protect our community while fighting this disease 💙💪
