Our newest secondhand find 🥹✨ Yes, we are dramatic, the medallion is dramatic, and the music is the most dramatic — I love it ✨

Big hack! We’ve had so many people ask about our art lights - These are actually vintage piano lamps that would normally sit on top of a piano or desk! When we first researched actual art lights (that are hardwired) the prices were $200+ for styles we weren’t even really into. And we needed 6 of them. That wasn’t good enough for us.. So my GENIUS Nathanael had a lightbulb moment and decided to make his own hardwired art lights out of these vintage piano lamps! I’m INLOVE! He wanted to make a tutorial video for anyone who loves art and wants to learn how to do it for themselves to showcase their pieces!

It’s not too late to book your wedding for this year 🖤 Nathanael and I dated for 3 years and were engaged for 3 weeks.. now I’m now saying that short of an engagement is for everyone but it was perfect for us. Sometimes when you know you know and you know you don’t want to wait any longer 😉 Here are some pros written by pros on shorter engagements so you don’t just have to take my word for it: “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. A shorter engagement will leave you less confused. There are literally a million options for every wedding decision out there. It can be really overwhelming! Having less time to plan a wedding will force you to make decisions and stick to them. You simply won’t have the time to be wishy washy. It can be less expensive. Generally speaking, couples who are ok with a shorter engagement tend to be low key. I seriously cannot explain how moody The Prelude is at night – we are obsessed with creating the dreamiest ambiences so we definitely let loose on the lighting! 53 lights and 22 light switches to create the most whimsical moods for any setting. I’d like to say that all of this came out of my creative brain but I’d be lying.. If I told any random person that my husband is the real mad genius behind The Preludes unique style you’d be shocked. And I get it, it’s rare to find a guy filled with this much style and whimsy who's straight! But for the people who know Nathanael, it’s obvious he’s the real creator here. We often joke about our totally organic egalitarian relationship - It’s not unusual to show up to our tiny house and find me wearing my toolbelt deep in a project while Nathanaels pruning the roses by our front steps. We love it.
