After sharing months and in some cases years with this couple sharing endless personal moments together and planning one of the most important days of this couples lives is always bitter sweet for me. On the one hand, being the orchestra leader to this intricate arrangement of complicated perfectly arranged moments of time, where there is no room for error. As the evening is concluding, I’m so happy to see it all unfold successfully, and although exhausted, I’m exhilarated by how happy the couple is with the outcome. But at the same time I’m somewhat sad to say goodbye to a couple and family I’ve become very close with through sharing this very personal life event together!

When planning the flowers/decor for your dinner tables, have 2 or even 3 different design styles for your tables. Each of the 2 or 3 table designs should have the same flowers and color palette, but presented in different ways. masterfully executed this by designing half the round tables using a tall clear glass vase with a stunning arrangement of white flowers & mixed greenery. The second table design was accomplished by using a multiple armed modern glass candelabra with the same flowers in small glass vases placed around the base of the candles. This created much more interest in the overall wedding design!

This moonlit photo with the lights from of Brooklyn Bridge twinkling in the distance, was the same view a wedding couple could have been witness to back in 1883 when Temple Court (Beekman Hotel), originally opened. This was the same year the Brooklyn Bridge was finally completed after being under construction for 14 years.
This was just one of the many “moments in time” this very special couple shared on this “picture perfect evening” back in September.

Don’t be afraid to use deep rich colors in your wedding design color palette. At one of our first design planning meetings I was thrilled when this couple mentioned they didn’t want the “standard safe white color palette”, and it proved to be a choice well made! And long tables with mirror tops are becoming a recognized element of more and more of our events! When a guest can look down at the table top and see the reflection of a masterpiece painted ceiling at the Metropolitan Club, it would be a sin NOT TO design the tabletops in mirror! RIGHT?
