Newburgh Armory Community Garden

A community garden in the heart of Newburgh. The Newburgh Armory Community Garden began in 2011. Water is collected in rain barrels.

It is located on one acre of land in the heart of the City of Newburgh. Last year 20 beds were built for individuals and organizations in the community to grow food. We provide seeds and there are gardening equipment and tools in the shed. Once a week a master gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension provides instruction on growing and caring for our fruits and vegetables. The beds cost $25 eac

h for the entire season, but the memebership fee can be waived if a family is undergoing economic hardship. Every resident in the City of Newburgh is welcome.
