***** Choosing A Wedding Venue*****

1. CONSULT WITH YOUR PLANNER FIRST.

Your first investment for the wedding should be a wedding planner. I will assist you with the ins and outs of venue selection. I will also be able to recommend places that compliment your vision, budget, catering needs, and wedding party/guest needs. If there’s a creative way to make it unique or a quirk about the space that could make your vision hard to accomplish, I , your planner, will know!

2. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Whether it’s a wedding at your home, or a beach destination, location matters. Always consider the convenience of the venue location. Are there hotel accommodations nearby? Fun things to do? Safe roads or multiple routes in case of traffic? Restaurants for the guests staying a few days? Keep these details in mind to research and ask the venue coordinator.

3. ALL ABOUT AESTHETICS.

Take advantage of the natural beauty of your venue. Look for appealing spots for wedding portraits, such as gardens, unique wallpapers, and brick walls that can act as natural backdrops for photos. This will help your photographer and decrease the need for additional decor.

4. MENU AT THE VENUE.

Inquire about the prep space available for catering. A smaller space and/or one without a sink, fridge, or ice machine can put a strain on caterers and menu options. Also, venues may have pre-selected caterers that you must choose, meaning no outside caterers beyond their list.

5. SPACE OF THE PLACE.

Think of the people who will be with you on wedding day. Spaces just for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready, wait for pictures, and keep their personal items are essential. The less travel required to prepare on wedding day helps with time delays. Holding and welcome areas for guests are a plus! Many couples recall the ceremony and reception, but don’t forget to ask about where the cocktail area will be.
