These Kenzies of London ornaments are absolutely gorgeous... fun, funky and a little bit sassy, all at the same time. Their names are "Cool-El Santa" and "Floral Fe**sh Santa." Hi, my name is Jim and I have an official ornament collecting obsession, even months after Christmas... because it's just under 10 months until Christmas!!

Dooley is cuddled with his older brother Barrymore in his bed this evening. Barrymore is going to Rainbow Bridge tomorrow to be with his dearly departed brothers Bogie and Clarkie and I know his daddy Larry will be waiting for him there. But for now, just a photo of two brothers cuddling with each other.

I was in the mood for more traditional colors this year, so I changed our colors all to a red and green tartan plaid theme. And when Jim picks a color theme he gets all “matchy-matchy” really fast! One thing is for sure, my grandmother would have loved it because she loved red! I made all of my own bows on Lea Cavender’s EZ Bowmaker with 150 yards of tartan and red velveteen wired ribbon.

We added four new ornaments from Christkindl Market downtown Chicago and one of our favorite vendors Lausher Glasskugelhaus/Frank’s Ornament House including this glorious St Nicholas tree topper and my annual German “Weihnachten” heart and Chicago-themed Buckingham Fountain.

Our big red tree from the family room is new this year. I rotate out the themes annually in this room. This one is in honor of my Grandmother Billie who loved red lights, and probably why my favorite color is red. Scott found the best red velvet tree skirt with silver jewels at Chalet Nursery the night we were there to get our annual poinsettias.

For years I’ve been sporadically collecting German “smokers” that emit a bit of smoke from their round little mouths when you burn a bit of holiday fragrant incense. This year we added this gorgeous Santa riding a donkey. He is so cute. (Disclaimer: smoking is bad, kids, don’t do it!)

Mr Barrymore was snoring loudly on the sofa. I had to get some video of Mr Adorable snoring away. Then he caught me. I sure do love my sweet elderly boy.
