Plant Highlight:

Lemon Button Fern!

This cutie known as “lemon button fern” is a dwarf variety of the common Boston Fern. It is a great plant for anyone who has struggled to keep ferns alive. Lemon button is known to be pretty resilient and less finicky than its relatives. Since it is compact, it makes a great office or house plant!

Helpful tip:
Due to their compact size, lemon button ferns do not require any pruning to keep them happy and healthy. They may drop old fronds in the fall and winter months and removing the fronds will help keep your plant tidy and encourage new growth during their growing season.

Fun fact:
The leaves give off a lemony scent when crushed!

💅🏼We kicked off Heidi’s wedding week and pampered ourselves; Together!! It was fun, relaxing and rejuvenating. Our tired feet needed a boost. And they look real pretty now, too.

Plant Highlight:

Raven ZZ Plant!

These plants are so cool. You don’t see black foliage very often. Their new growth starts out bright green and as the leaves mature they turn black.

The ZZ belongs to the same plant family as the Peace Lily (featured a couple of weeks ago).

Unlike peace lilies, ZZ plants rarely flower indoors. When they do, the bloom resembles the start of a peace lily flower.

ZZ plants have rhizomes which look a lot like potatoes. They store water in their rhizomes and fleshy stems. Since they are drought tolerant and prefer to dry out between waterings, this is a handy feature of the plant!

Though slow-growing, common ZZ plants reach 2 to 4 feet tall and wide.
