Fractal Dragon has been producing dissociative ear candy since 2008. His Music is best experienced through a big sound system in the red woods by your favorite local tree. Originally from Santa Cruz, he now lives on the Big Island.

MOONFIRE

Dance is a journey. It’s up to you to determine the destination. Music is the vehicle. An expression of infinite variation that can touch any point in time and space. And all the movers and shakers on the Big Island know to be prepared for new worlds to explore when Moonfire is at the helm of the ship. On warm currents of organic sounds, Moonfire transports dancers across a multi-textured soundscape layered with tribal beats and rhythmic world fusion.

Moonfire has been a force of nature on the local dance scene since the fabled “Full Moon Party” days, when she was a young dancer with a passion for world beats that propelled her from the dance floor to the decks. Honing her craft on turntables at renegade parties that magically appeared all over the island, her music was mixed with the beauty of the island surrounding it -- crashing waves, whistling winds, twinkling stars, chirping frogs, singeing whales, and whatever else Mother nature brought to the show.

From those wild days, Moonfire’s flames grew until they consumed the speakers of our favorite local dance events-- weekly gatherings like Ecstatic Dance and Bee Dance, as well as private campouts like Petting Zoo and CandyLand.

Often, it takes a dancer to know what the dance floor desires. Moonfire nurtures the senses with her feminine round sound. Conveying a sense of the divine with roots in spiritually lifting instrumentals, drumming, and chanting. Curvaceous melodies with big bass drops that celebrate both the ceremony and raw impulses of dance.

TEAA REXX

Teaa Rexx serves up rhythms to move the soul and bass to shake the b***y. She explores tribal sounds with deep trap bass drops mixed with heart pounding dancing music. She has traveled around playing events and renegades island wide and beyond, recently featured at CandyLand 2023. Teaa Rexx tears it up. She's earned a following and a reputation for always slaying the set. A high energy bass goddess and skilled bass blender, Teaa Rexx brings a mix of sexy dance tracks guaranteed to start your weekend.

WEarth is back from his psychedelic adventures in space. WEarth is a diverse DJ that blends rhythms of world music with modern dance vibes through a wide range of genres. But his true passion is spreading bass around the world. We're delighted to welcome WEarth back to the decks this week!

JOULZ
Joulz brings a deep and soul filled dance journey for your heart & feet. Mixing an abundant serving of world music, breaks, trap, sexy dub step, mid-tempo, future beats, glitch-hop, psy-dub, ambient, and some sacred vibrations thrown in for good measure. It’s a journey through time and space with gems of wisdom sprinkled throughout to balance the whomp.
We like to call it sacred bass music to keep it short. Drawing from a love of industrial, world, funk, and hip-hop vibes.

ODYSSEUS
After the Oracle of Delphi prophesized that once he embarked, Odysseus would not return from his world tour for 20 years, Odysseus tried to avoid his fate by feigning insanity and honoring Dionysus' with wild full moon parties from the deserts of Southern California to the then Virgin beaches of the Big I, where he mixed authentic vinyl from afro-middle-eastern-sufi and native American cultures, with future tech beats that at the time were unaccustomed to such alchemy.

But his fate could not be avoided, and as the new millennium dawned, he was swept into a world tour that found him: narrowly escaping the seductive dream-fueled slumber of the psy-trance lotus-eaters, spending years training in the irresistible breakbeat arms of the witch-Goddess Circe, and only escaping her funky clutches, by consuming the spell-breaking herb moli. Then, after tying himself to his ship's mast and going into deep ecstatic dance meditations with the original Sirens, who taught the teacher, who taught the teacher, of the very first teacher, he journeyed into the underworlds of Hades' Amsterdam and Berlin, where he communed and jammed with epic heroes and ancestors of the past and feasted on melodic techno, deep and progressive beats and was warned about standing too long on the DJ podium, and taking himself and the cult of personality too seriously.

Still, the cunning, but aloha-seeking Odysseus needed to learn and navigate the dual Drum and Bass labyrinth of Scylla and Charybdis before he could eventually, with the help of Nausicaa in the valley of the lush grooves, finish his world tour and find his way back to Ithaca, his island home, in the fourth chakra land of organic, tech and progressive house where the collective heartbeat and spontaneous expressions of joy dissolved all barriers between the DJ, the drummers, the dancers and the source.

LUCKY BROWN
Originally born in Seattle, WA, Lucky's musical influences started with radio, Motown and R&B dancing with his Mom in the living room, summers of heavy basement sessions with his Uncles, rocking out to the best Classic Rock... And then it was his Pops who gave him that special schooling on Soul music and what makes a groove Funk! Fresh out of college, his friend introduced him to House Music, taking him to his first "underground" dance club.

Having loved music and dancing all his life, he'd never felt or moved like that before and cried his eyes out right on the dance floor. A few weeks later he bought some Technics and is still rockin' 'em 21 years later! He's thankful to have held residencies over the years in Seattle and Hawaii with his favorites being intimate outdoor events; full moon, beachside and hilltops!

He’s been bouncing around from the Big Island house party scene to the Mainland festival circuit and everywhere in between. In his zone from deep house to techno, Ben Annand pairs impeccably smooth mixing skills with a dynamic style that keeps the music moving, artfully playing with breakdowns and spending most of his time in the mix.

“For me, a great mix is the interplay of 2 unique pieces of music, creating something greater than the sum of the parts - and a great set weaves those mixes into a musical flow you can’t help but lose yourself in on the dance floor.”

Ben fell in love with dancing and electronic music culture in 1995, and learned to mix in 1996. Just 2 years later he became resident dj at the famed Moontribe Gathering, and started his own production company, Tropical. The first half of his career was mostly focused on DJing abroad, with 13 trips to Moscow’s Propaganda club, travel across Russia, Spain, and Mexico, an appearance at Wiggle at Fabric in London and two at the Labyrinth Festival in Japan.

In more recent years, Ben Annand became a top West Coast festival DJ. He has played and released sets at the last six Lightning in a Bottle Festivals (CA), and also appeared multiple times at Sunset Campout, Stilldream and Desert Hearts (CA), Photosynthesis and Cascadia (WA), and Esthetic Evolution and Konnexion (ID). He’s also played Shambhala and Motion Notion (BC, Canada), and Oregon Eclipse (OR), As organizer of Tropical, he's donated over $33,000 to charity, hosted zero-waste events in Hawaii, and presented gender-balanced dj lineups. Most recently he launched Bridge to Paradise / Music-Friendly DJ Booking to connect other organizers with stunning venues similar to the ones he’s used for Tropical.

Whatever his project, Ben Annand is always contributing, and always thinking outside the box.

EZWHIP

Hawaii-based ezwhip remembers with vivid clarity the exact moment he first heard the opening notes of Erasure’s “Who Needs Love Like That?,” launching a now 35-year-plus love affair with electronic music. His pioneering early 90s radio show Chillspace explored the nascent genre of ambient house, but it was turn-of-the-century Burning Man that dumped rocket fuel onto a burgeoning obsession with the broken beat.

He gravitates towards music with a visceral feel - grimy and grindy, bassy and bouncy. His mixes reflect a passion for a variety of styles and genres, weaving fresh sounds with properly-cellared bangers to inspire both old heads and new generations of bass-chasing, b***y-shaking beat freaks.

SAFARIPARTI

SafariParti Bass is a music producer/ DJ that's passionate about Deep Dubstep and a variety of weird Bass Music. A love for those deep frequencies led to the Creation of The Big House Productions which focuses on high fidelity sound and chest pounding Bass in small and intimate settings.

SafariParti plays music you feel with track selections geared more towards grounding and rooting you down into your body through the use of deep bass and intentional frequencies. His sets access a state of flow via freestyle. Fostering the discovery of new Mashups and versions of songs for the first time along with the crowd. Hidden in his arsenal is a vast collection of dubplates (unreleased originals from himself and producers around the globe) making his sets uniquely original.

Some of the notable artists he's shared the stage with include Russ Liquid, Mimosa, Mystic Grizzly, Lusid, Partywave, An-en-nae, and Rumpus.

SOROKA

Soroka is Ukrainian for magpie. In Ukrainian folklore, magpies are sacred musical and mythical entities that facilitate the underworld and are messengers of the Ancestors. Through the embodiment of this mystical creature, the disc jockey known as SOROKA reaches into the center of diversified genres, highlighting a rooted commonality amongst changing BPMs.

Deeply connected to her Ukrainian heritage, raised in Detroit, Michigan, and presently living and loving on the Big Island of Hawaii, SOROKA has a mystifying, grounded, and eclectic approach to music. Her centered perspective allows for the romance of diverse genres to manifest into sensual communion. Her soundscape is worldly in the same notion that is otherworldly. Her sonic flavor is wholesome in the sexiest manner. Her musical tone grows roots in the same breath that it escapes euphorically.

SOROKA has performed at various underground shows on Big Island, including multiple Big House Production’s events— SOROKA is equipped to flex a sound system with an innovative and flavorful, bass-forward set!

ZAYUS + ODYSSEUS

It's a new year and we're starting off strong with one of our hottest rising headliners as well as a legend that helped lay the foundations of our Big Island dance scene! Hawaiian Sanctuary has remodeled their dance space and improved their sound system, pouring a lot of love and care back into our weekly gathering, it's time to move forward and create great experiences together!
AZAYUS
Azayus gets the dancers moving. His mixes are smooth and daring. Azayus explores a full spectrum of dance frequencies and rhythmic dynamics from high energy beats that demand quick steppin' to whompy bass disintegration that keeps you deep trippin'. This Friday, his main hour set will heavily feature trance, so be ready to sweat.
Azayus has headlined infamous Big Island events like CandyLand and a recent 2024 NYE celebration. Azayus ability to create masterful mixes is well known in our underground dance scene and he has become one of the most celebrated talents to regularly play for us at Bee Dance.
ODYSSEUS
Odysseus has been a huge influence on the Big Island scene going way back to the Full Moon Days at the turn of the millennium.
Odysseus (Lush Hawaii) was a resident dj for LA's integral gathering and Zodiac tribe before spearheading the now legendary Big Island full moon parties at the turn of the millenium. He was one of the original ecstatic dance facilitators, and has facilitated Ecstatic dances throughout Europe. He simultaneously cultivates an underground club presence, and has just returned from an invigorating tour of Amsterdam, Germany and Belgium.
He has performed with Bass Nectar, Tipper, Treavor Moontribe, and many other lesser known, but just as talented artists. He is super grateful for all the talented djs currently pushing the boundaries and beats on the Big Island here and now.

Akriza + Gratitone

AKRIZA

Akriza is a musician and electronic music producer hailing from the city of Portland, Oregon, currently based out of Nevada City, California. He explores a range of genres in his productions, most often characterized by epic cinematic movements and soaring vocal melodies. His work ranges from heavy bangers to deeper emotional tracks, inspired by his travels around the world--capturing and reflecting the feelings of awe that arise from witnessing some of the earth’s most epic natural beauty. Some of Akriza’s sonic influences include Clozee, CharlestheFirst, and TroyBoi.

Some of Akriza’s notable performances include playing internationally in Mexico and Guatemala, One Love Festival, Unison Festival, High Vibe Festival and many Living Prism events.

His second album Templo Sagrado was released on High Vibe Records at the end of 2021 and he has many releases and collaborations planned for 2022.

GRATITONE

Smile-inducing dance medicine. The vibrations of Gratitone are known to kiss your skin, slide into your ears, embrace your soul, and animate your limbs. Sound servings include rhythms from around the globe, the funky, the ecstatic, and the ineffable.

Gratitone is an experienced ecstatic dance DJ that frequently headlines San Diego, the Bay Area, Santa Fe, and Puna scenes. Dance like nobody's watching, love like you've never been hurt, give thanks, and LET GO of that which doesn't serve you!

Neby has been perfecting his craft since 2010, spawning from the underground scene of the (the now under lava scene) SumLand greenhouse raves. He serves up styles ranging from mid-tempo breaks, underground bass, four on the floor, Drum and Bass, and everything in between. Blending classic tunes of yesterday with today’s sounds, he creates a unique style that gets everyone grooving. CATNIP
Meow! Catnip has pounced on our scene and nobody can get enough! She left the Petting Zoo campout crowd clawing for more. We're excited for her triumphant return to Bee Dance this week. Last time she left the dancefloor breathless. There's no telling what mischief she'll get us all into next! DJ Catnip hath arrived to make those tails wag with a blend of worldbeat, tribal electronica, bassy trap, and funky house music influences. After taking a little cat nap from the scene to raise two cubs, she’s back with a roar and a newfound passion for creating the sacred container of wiggles n whomp. Be ready to dance fur real to purr-vocative beats attuned through ears of a true lioness.

Omra is busy crafting an upbeat, bass lovin, b***y shakin, womp-iliscious, folktronic, psychafunkic, spintress style set to light up the night for the bee dancers.
