Despite the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2015, discrimination against LGBTQ+ couples continues to this day. In fact, less than 5% of wedding professionals are recognized as inclusive. Our goal at the NGWA is to change that. Inclusive wedding practices begin with education, support, and understanding.
The NGWA Mission: to foster inclusive awareness for wedding professionals through supporting partnerships, continuing education, and community.
At the NGWA, we believe inclusivity means having many different voices at the table. After careful consideration, the NGWA felt it was best to listen to the pulse of the wedding community and we’ve realized that many of those vital voices may not have access to an in-person conference in January due to COVID-19.
We’ve decided that coming off of holiday travel, it’s best to pivot our conference to a virtual platform with a reduced ticket price to ensure the safety of all of our attendees and speakers and to make this groundbreaking inaugural conference accessible to all members of our community and beyond.
We are thrilled to still be offering our stellar speaker lineup and are excited that these amazing industry leaders will be able to provide inclusive education to even more attendees now that we’ve pivoted to virtual!

Recognized as one of Harper's Bazaar's Top 2020 wedding planners, Best Wedding Planners and Event Designers by Martha Stewart Wedding, and Best Wedding and Event Planners in America by BRIDES Magazine, Chanda has been a leader in LGBTQ+ weddings since 1999. A huge advocate for inclusion and diversity, Chanda often speaks on the topic within the industry.
