Here is a video of the crankshaft balancing process. All modifications are made to the crank, nothing is done to the flexplate, some shops will take the easy path and add weight to the flexplate, we don't do that because if the plate is ever changed the motor will still be balanced.

Here we show the process of balancing a forged 6.5 diesel crankshaft.

We spent today machining 3 P400 blocks, truing decks & cutting O-ring groves.

This is how we true the deck for MLS gaskets and cut O-ring groves in a P400 or a 6.x block.

P400 head differences vs GEP....

I have found some differences between a head used on the P400 verses a standard 6.x head... I'm still finding other things that make this a "different" head. The casting # are the same but so far that is all, but I haven't cut one up YET, that is coming soon, I'm just too busy with hay cutting...

9 Bolt Halo Girdle Kit
The 9 bolt is made from the same 3/8 A572 steel as the 10 bolt, BUT the 9 bolt does not require oil pump clearance mods. Fits all 6.x motors.

New doesn't always mean good.
Got the 2 NEW P400's apart down to the cranks. Found all rod bearings had groves deep enough to catch a finger nail. And just as bad if not worse, every piston had the ring gaps lined up, not good. They would have had blow by from the start.
Another find was "stuff" in the oil pans. These are brand new motors if that means anything.

A fyi, I'm in the process of getting more halo girdle kits built, I'm also making a 9 bolt version for those that don't want to worry about doing anything to the oil pump.

This will be a limited run of 3 10 bolt & 3 9 bolt.

If there are those that want in on this I will accept a deposit to ensure you get it.

I'm curious if their is any interest in a built 6.2? Once these 4 p400's are done I have a excellent 660 block I'm considering building a max effort build, p400 heads, splayed caps, filled block, halo girdle, full coatings, TSP performance cam, roller rockers, etc.

It will be for sale.

We have a big start to 2024, 4 P400 builds are in route and will be in house the end of the month.

I am thinking about making several informative videos for my youtube channel, bearing fitment, block machining, block o-ringing, etc..

Question - what would you like to see that may be different from the normal things on youtube for the 6.x engine? I will attempt to show as much of the process I can of what you want to see with these first 4 builds.

I would like to wish all of out customers a Merry Christmas and thank you for being a customer. We had a great 2023 and it looks like 2024 is starting off bigger than any other year with 4 P400 builds at once.

This year we plan to show more behind the scenes during the machining & build process. Stay tuned for more videos.

Update, the next customer motor is nearing completion, cemented block, splayed main caps, halo girdle, bottom end studs, 18:1, p400 heads, ported, egr passages filled, our proprietary valve springs, full array of coatings and much more. This one will be painted Detroit Alpine Green. Paint next weekend then on the run stand for a few hours of testing, video will be on our youtube page.

Next build is a P400, it will be getting a long list of mods.

Next on the run stand is my personal build "Orange Crush" .

We now are able to offer NEW GEP BARE BLOCKS. We aren't offering bare blocks other than to customers coming to us for a blueprint build and can't find a crack free block or would rather start with a brand new block. This is another step we are taking to provide the strongest 6.5 built, as with ALL our builds these will get splayed main caps, halo girdle, block o-ringed at no charge other than machining cost.
