It’s difficult to imagine, with the beautiful weather we are experiencing today, that a good chunk of Florida’s coastal towns have been ravaged. After sending loads of supplies out for the folks hit by Helene, it seems like a drop in the bucket effort considering the destruction. We are thinking about all those affected by these back to back storms and counting our many blessings. Thank you to all of those folks from about the world for your kind message and concern. We were very lucky here.

Use the Amazon link to purchase items that are desperately needed on the wish list, for the areas most badly hit by hurricane Helene, in Florida. Kuhns Flowers is using their delivery trucks to make multiple runs of supplies to these areas over the next two weeks. When you go to check out, select delivery to Kuhns and they will receive your donation and load it onto their trucks. They will update the wish list as needs change. One learns a lot about their design skills when they have to photograph their work😂. Just when I thought I had it the way I wanted, the pictures told me otherwise. After a little repositioning, I think I got it right. Better internal mechanics would have made things much easier haha! Anyway, this is the little project I worked on yesterday with . He made us sew a container in crepe paper after creating a pattern for it 😅. As luck would have it, I’m also a professional costume designer. #

It was such a pleasure to be able to spend time with the affable yesterday evening. The activity he had prepared for us was fun, creative, challenging and frustrating 😅😂. All the things I’m sure he felt when competing for the Interflora World Cup, in 2023. Immense talent, and determination won him the title of best florist in the world and he very kindly agreed to share some of his cool techniques with us here at Symposium! Thank you so much, I’m excited to see your main stage program today!

This will be my 8th year attending AIFD Symposium, a flower industry convention which is vital in expanding knowledge and expertise throughout the floral industry internationally! Every year I learn new things and broaden my design skills after experiencing the most inspiring floral designers in the world. Their unique talents and style keeps us current and sets our floral design firm apart from the rest!

I sure would have liked to see this order with the peonies fully opened! How spectacular! This was the epitome of luxury, bursting of butterfly ranunculus, Cloni ranunculus, peonies, gardenia, hybrid croton, lepidium, and campanula!

One of the things we love about designing ‘table-scapes’ is that we can re-invent or elevate something that’s been done a bunch of times so that it’s unique and special for our clients. These are cylinders with floating candles. However, we added our Fleurs de Vedra flare and took it up several notches. Can you see what we did? Look closely😉
