The Richmond Area Arts Council's Derby Brunch is scheduled for May 4 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Lynwood Estate in Richmond! This year's brunch will pay tribute to the greatest thoroughbred racehorse of all time, Secretariat. Secretariat was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame fifty years ago, and we'll emphasize his achievements.

Entertainment will be provided by several performers. Vera Stonestreet Paige is one of the most versatile and talented vocalists in central Kentucky, and she performs throughout the region with the VSP Band. Her setlist will include a wide range of material from several genres, and I'll once again donate my services as an accompanist. The Kentuckians Chorus is the premiere vocal ensemble for barbershop singing in the region, and one of their most talented vocal quartets will perform as well. In addition, EKU's Trinidaditude quartet will provide Caribbean and South American inspired-jazz featuring the sounds of the steel pan and bossa nova-influenced guitar.

An extensive menu will be prepared by Robby Robbins from EKU Catering, and a cash bar will be provided. There will be a best hat and bow tie contest, and guests will be able to tour the historic Lynwood Estate.
