Want to talk about dramatic skies?! Take a look at this session- we really, really lucked out! Somehow the rain avoided us but the skies all around us were so amazing. A perfect backdrop for this fun and loved up family! I wish I could custom order these skies for all of my sessions!

Shari recently was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (yup THE Academy, like the Oscars!) for Music/Sound Editing and needed new headshots. We spent some time around her home office/studio/editing room and porch. She worked on some shows and movies that I’m sure you all know (Billions, Far and Away, I, Tonya to name a few) and I’ve photographed many of her family’s celebrations over the years. She wasn’t a “happy participant” for the session, but she said she was really happy with the end results. Please get in touch if you need updated headshots too!

Meghan requested a session that was both maternity and also their last session as a family of 3 before baby Grace arrives. Working with toddlers, I'm kind of at their whim. Bobby was quite the jumping bean so we just had some fun with it. They are just an adorable family and I can't wait to meet their baby girl. I'm actually off in a little while to photograph Meghan's baby shower so there will be more pictures of this happy family soon.

Omg you guys- I’m published!!! (Well, my photos are!) has been working on this cookbook for about 3 years and I’m so glad I was able to make her vision come to life. Luckily or as fate would have it, we had a very similar vision from the get go and worked so well together. We had so much fun, became great friends and ate so well & so much along the way! Food photography is super fun for me (especially the eating it afterwards) and although different than making people smile, it had its own challenges. I’ll never forget the “garlic waffles” and the fu***ng seagulls that ate all the food we were setting up on the beach. Details on purchasing and book signings coming soon. I can’t wait for everyone to see it! Also, the irony of ME having my first real published work be a cookbook is not lost on me.

The fact that Hannah is now a fully admitted attorney with a wonderful new job is truly mindboggling! I’ve been photographing her and her family since she was little. And she was definitely one of my early muses. I still stand by my opinion that she looks like Natalie Portman. Wishing her all the best on her law career- I know she will be a star!

I remember photographing Mia when she was an adorable, tiny thing in glasses and short bobbed hair. So reconciling that little girl with this college bound beauty took a minute. Mia still has her funny personality from way back when which I’m sure will continue to serve her well in life. Wishing her the best of luck at Uof SC next year and with rush as well!

A brand new to me couple who I got to photograph for a really special evening. We really lucked out because the lighting was awesome and a huge storm was rolling in just as we were wrapping up. It made for a very windy shoot but with the awesome skies and light (not to mention the awesome couple!) we made some pretty pictures! It was crazy how one side of the sky was all blue and the other was like the end of the world was coming. Wishing them clear skies ahead and love to weather thru the storms together!

A time honored tradition in Manhasset, the Senior Frolic is put on by all the parents of the senior class. It’s a different theme every year and they do it to the nines (or tens!). Even the bathrooms were amazing and not a detail missed. Everything is hand built, hand painted. This year was a beach theme and it was as amazing as ever. I’m sure you’ll recognize some of the parents from previous shoots. I’m so glad they brought me on as their photographer again this year!

Seeing a bunch of old clients and friends at prom is both freaky and fun! Everyone grows up so fast. I love seeing them all dressed up and ready for a fun night. Looking forward to hearing all about their college and work plans via facebook soon!

Lori Mae’s family put together a beautifully themed and decorated bridal shower for her with tons of fun details! Her sister was my “point person” on the shower and she did a fabulous job on all the details and decor. Congratulations to Lori Mae- “kiss the miss goodbye”!

Heather & Jourdan came to me thru some photografriends and I was so excited to photograph their wedding! A very small and intimate ceremony at town hall, followed by a drop off of Heather’s son at field day (I didn’t photograph that part!) and then some portraits at a nearby park. They are both authors and the vows they wrote for each other were so beautiful and heartfelt. It was a lovely day! Wishing them all the best on their marriage!

When Annie's mom called me for her senior session, all i could picture was a little tiny blondie in a smocked dress with a peter pan collar. Yeah, she's grown up a little since then. I've been photographing Annie for a long time and I'm so unsurprised to see the beautiful, smart young woman she turned out to be. Wishing Annie the best of luck at Providence!

Even arguing with all the Rangers (hockey) fans at the party couldn’t put a damper on the day. Luke looked like a model on the stairs by the church but couldn’t get into his bathing suit and into the pool fast enough as soon as he got home. It’s a good a way as any to celebrate your first communion with family and friends! Congratulations to Luke and family! Another family I’ve been photographing since Luke was a newborn. Crazy how time flies!

Everly’s communion was my second time photographing a communion for this gorgeous family. Her poor sister got the hottest day ever but we had some nice cloud cover and not so hot temps this go round. Everly’s favorite part of her dress was the bows so I had to make sure they showed up in a few pictures. I’m hoping this family calls me for some pictures in their restored 1970s tiffany blue ford bronco cause you know how much I’d love that!

I was so excited to photograph this gorgeous couple’s proposal/engagement! Molly’s mom contacted me and put me in touch with Cody. We worked out the details of the surprise (complete with map). I even parked on a street a few blocks away since my car is very identifyable and I didn’t want to ruin the surprise! Oddly enough, my EXACT car was parked down the block from the beach entrance- what are the odds??-but at least it wasn’t mine! I hid behind a bunch of volleyball players until Cody was down at the water with Molly and got on bended knee. Of course she said YES! A bunch of family met them down on the beach to celebrate and then there was a big (surprise. To Molly.) engagement party back at their home. It all went off without a hitch. I am so happy for them and know they’ll be so happy together!

There were about a zillion (give or take) kids at this preprom party, hosted by my friends Carolyn & Jim. I have to say the kids were all super polite, well mannered and kind. They also looked spectacular! A lot of the kids have been my clients & friends for years, so it was great catching up and seeing them all dressed up. And the backyard was done to the 9s! (if you know the Biv’s, this will not come as a surprise to you at all!). Great work by Daniel on the balloons and decor as always- he’s an artist! I hope they all had a great time at the prom and can’t wait to watch them all flourish in their next adventures!

Their ceremony was so lovely and was performed by a cousin who is also clergy (so it was all legal and stuff). Their vows to each other were beautiful and there wasn’t a dry eye on the beach. They hit up the Allegria Hotel afterwards for some drinks and dancing. Pretty much a perfect “elopement”, locally! Wishing them many years of happiness!

The kids were definitely a big part of the celebrations for the wedding and really had a great time playing with their cousins in the rain on the beach, dancing and watching their mom & Charles tie the knot! Wishing the whole family and the upcoming new baby lots of happiness always!

A brand new to me couple/family that was referred thru RVC Moms (so thanks to everyone who put my name in!) that did the most fun and comprehensive shoot, ever. It was a couples session, a family session, a maternity session, an engagement session and a wedding session all rolled into one happy day! They obviously have a lot to celebrate!! We shot between the (unforcasted!) raindrops on the beach in Long Beach and the weather held out just enough for us to get our pictures in. So many great moments, it’s definitely going to have to be at least a 2-3 part post.

Manhasset does their prom early every year, which actually makes it much easier for me to fit into my busy spring schedule. The occassional downside is cold temperatures and wind like on this day back in early April. The preprom festivities were at Mary’s house with a few friends and then at the Manhasset Bay Club with the whole senior class. So many beautiful people and dresses- it was so much fun to photograph as I saw a bunch of my past clients there too! Wasn’t Mary the most gorgeous girl in her pink gown?!

A brand new to me couple that came to me thru Emily’s sister, who’s family I photographed last fall. They are recently engaged and needed some photos for their wedding website and save the dates. Also, they wanted to include their elderly (but still way spunky) dog for a few shots. We had a lovely day for their photos and the best of the flowering trees! Wishing them the best for their upcoming wedding!

Since the birthday girl was fantastic, you can rest assured that the party would be nothing short of fun and not a detail missed. Love all of the pink everywhere! The candlelighting was so heartfelt and moving and full of love. I hope I can sub in for Heather again sometime with this awesome crew! Kaylee and her family came to me thru my photografriend Heather. She is their normal photographer but she had a family issue come up at the last minute and asked me to step in. Always happy to help out a friend! Especially when the family I end up photographing are as awesome as Kaylee’s. She ended up having 3 dresses and a court of 12, so it gave me lots to photograph. So much so, I’m breaking the event into 2-3 posts so I can share all the greatness!

My lovely & longtime client Suzanne needed some updated headshots for her real estate business and for social media. She has impeccable taste (love her navy & white theme) and her home is as beautiful and put together as she is, so of course we had to incorporate that as our setting. If you’re looking for some updated personal branding for your business, socials or just for yourself for fun, I hope you consider working with me, too! Ridiculously, I took these photos of pretty Miss Alex a YEAR ago, and for whatever reason (pick one: adult onset ADD, not pressed for a deadline since I asked her to model, moving them down the queue, procrastination, just burn out, sheer laziness?) I only edited them last week. So even though they are super late and Alex probably doesn’t even look like this anymore, the flowers were still beautiful and so was she. Plus, her sweater was a perfect match to my car so that had to be included somewhere. Thanks for modeling, Alex!

Another fabulous event put on by Kenny & family benefitting many charities and foundations in our area (and beyond). It gets a little bigger every year with more runners and more foundations to donate to. I’m so proud of my friend for not only running 27 miles in 24 hours to honor the last 27 days of his brother’s life that he lost to cancer, but for being such a light to our community and people who are in need.

rose & sean get engaged {in the pouring rain}

Rain wasn’t stopping love! Corny, but true. It was pretty much monsooning raining out, complete with sideways rain. The end of the dock where the proposal was planned was covered, but that didn’t do much for the wind and rain coming in. Rose’s aunt set it up beautifully but there was no point in lighting the candles and the scattered rose petals really scattered! Like into the water. When the couple arrived, none of the weather mattered anymore as Sean asked Rose to marry him. Of course she said yes right away! We didn’t spend much more time taking pictures because the weather wasn’t getting any better but we were able to catch a few cute ones with umbrellas and kisses. Congratulations to the happy couple!

This reception was so much fun- I was literally smiling both while shooting and editing all of it! The speeches, the entrance (I mean the WWE takedown by tiny Christina was epic!), the dancing, the flags and props, the music and most importantly the love! So awesome!! Wishing the happy couple many years of happiness and the joy they had on their wedding day.

A beautiful ceremony for a wonderful couple! They chose not to do a first look but Sam and her dad had a first look of their own which was so sweet. I loved all of the elements they incorporated into their very special ceremony, it was so personal and emotional (in all the best ways!)
