Nature is full wonder and magic. We came across this group of butterflies at the head of Old Tree Road today during a property tour. 🦋 We’re temporarily calling it Butterfly Road as the butterflies gather to collect necessary salts and minerals from the soil. Fun fact, this is called ‘puddling’ and it occurs on a sunny day after rain. Butterflies get most of their nutrition from flower nectar. Though rich in sugar, nectar lacks important nutrients, so they make their way to sandy and gravel areas in pursuit of mud puddles rich in salt and minerals. 🦋
