Opdal Preservation Group hosted our 1st annual Opdal Country Bag Tournament on September 10. It was a beautiful day and we were blessed with family and friends who came out and enjoyed playing bags as well as some good food and prizes!

Cary and Lee Strandjord were looking to find the right place to gather family and friends for a celebration to honor the extraordinary life of their father, Verne. Opdal: Country Church Venue seemed, to them, the perfect place for such an event, as Verne attended Opdal as a child. Our hearts go out to the family of Verne Strandjord. More happy events happening at Opdal. Austin Enestvedt and Evonne Womack baptized their son, Jace! Afterward family and friends gathered at the chapel to celebrate Jace’s birthday! A good time was had by all!

Joyous events are happening at Opdal this winter. Lucy (Smith) and Todd Balfany had 2 grandchildren baptized on February 28.
Christopher & Jerlyn had Henry Todd Balfany baptized and Thomas & Megan had Aspen Christine Balfany baptized.
After the ceremony families celebrated in the chapel with a meal.
Congratulations and blessings to both families.
A double blessing, indeed!

Opdal Chapel hosted a winter greens centerpiece workshop event! Mel from Iverson Tree farm led the group to help create beautiful arrangements. Everyone enjoyed hot cocoa and punch along with charcuterie bowls and lefse! It was a feast for the senses!

Opdal is a charming country church that has been transformed into a venue for private gatherings. The church can host weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Message us if you have questions or want to tour the venue.
