The Weatherstone property has been sold. The buyer has begun making drastic changes to the property. I doubt she will reopen anything like Jack’s Barn.

The new owner has cut down almost all of the trees on the property. She has, thankfully, not cut down the four old growth live oaks. All vines are gone. Bushes will likely be her next target.

Please allow me to offer my sincere apologies. I thought she would respect what my parents had created. I thought she would honor the property. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry.

I’ll keep this page up for a couple of weeks, then the history of Jack’s Barn, the B&B, and my parents’ property will only survive in our memories.

I am so sorry.

I still have people requesting Jack’s Barn for events. It’s a wonderful place and people love it. So, with a lot of help from Alex Berumen, I’m going to allow it to be available for some events in the next few months. Please send a message to me and I’ll give you Alex’s contact information. Jack's Barn at Weatherstone in Salado, Texas is closed.

Jack passed away in September, 2018, and Pat passed away in March of this year. I’m going through all of their things (the collected ‘stuff’ from 69 years of marriage), making repairs here and there, and will put the property up for sale sometime in 2022. Hopefully the new owners will reopen Jack’s Barn at some point in the future. That will, of course, be entirely up to them.

Thank you for sharing more than 25 years (I think it’s actually 27 or 28 years) of your joys with us. You helped to keep celebration in my parent’s lives and they took great pleasure in being able to offer a unique venue for your celebrations. I will remember your kindnesses for the rest of my life.

Jack’s Barn is now indefinitely closed. Jack passed away in September 2019 and Pat has been in home hospice care since before then. Her time is coming to an end. When she passes I’ll spend some time going through all the ‘stuff’ they collected in their 69 years together. I’ll likely have an estate sale, then sell the property. It is my hope that the new owners will then reopen Jack’s Barn, though I will obviously have no control over what they might choose to do with the property.

Thank you so much for the almost three decades we had with you all! We were pleased to offer a beautiful, fun space for your celebrations. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
