This is why we do CrossFit…..
Motivational Monday inspired by one of the most kick ass, badass women in our community. Colleen is someone that makes me say to myself “I want to be like her when I grow up”. We absolutely love having you a part of our community and helping you live strong Colleen. You are an inspiration to us all. Cheers to you and keep kicking ass young lady!!
How old are you?
I'm 64 years young (and STRONG!)
What do you do for a living?
The majority of my career has been as VP of Merchandising. I have a true passion for product, understanding of the consumer and delight in bringing great products to life.
How long have you been doing Ctossfit and a part of our fitness community?
I began my CrossFit journey at CFIS in 2015, when I moved from the south shore to the north shore for work. I'd been a CrossFit member in Hingham prior. Once bitten by the CrossFit bug, you can't stop! I joined CFIS as soon as I moved to Salem and fell in love with Brandi, Steve and the Salem community.
What keeps you coming back?
The drive to constantly improve keeps me coming back. I'm amazed at what our bodies can do, and strive to get stronger while keeping safe. I want to have muscles, I find them a sign of caring about your body and a symbol of inner strength.
What are some of your goals?
My goals:
- stay fit with muscles you can notice
- strength, endurance and the ability to move as if I were half my age!
- to become a instructor for 64 plus-era!
What do you enjoy outside the gym and any hobbies?
Outside of the gym I simply enjoy my family, including my pup, Creid (which means BELIEVE). I've lost my Dad, Brother and my Mom most recently. I want to savor the time I do have with my sons Ryan and Curtis, plus my sister!
For hobbies, I love homes and fixing them up, painting, sewing curtains, yard work, ..
What food/bevy’s you enjoy most?
I love meats and veggies! My fav food would be lobster 🦞, plus spitfire tacos are pretty tasty! I do my best to avoid bread. My favorite bevy, 🍷 wine!
What would you tell someone hesitant to start CrossFit or a new fitness journey?
For someone hesitant to start, I'd say: "Go for it! Life is too short. Staying healthy and strong will lengthen your journey!" Brandi and Steve bring out the most in their students. They study us, encourage and recommend for continuous improvement. I love my community, it's so much a part of what makes me "tick"❤️
