Premier Catering is expanding its operations and is looking for a few good teammates. We are a full-service catering company and Cafe located in downtown Salt Lake. However, we service the entire Wasatch Front and provide regular meals to organizations like the Nourish to Flourish Initiative, 4th St. Clinic, and Valley Behavioral Health, just to name a few.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the food service industry or who wants to start a food-based business. Applicants do need to be at least 14 years of age or older and be legally authorized to work in the USA. Experience is a plus but not required as training will be provided. Punctuality, reliability, and following directions are key. Here are our current job openings:
PREP COOK, DISHWASHER
Full-Time; Mon.-Fri. 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Part-Time; Mon.-Fri. 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Duties may include some or all of the following:
•Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Lead Cook, Chef, or other kitchen managers
•Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
•Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
•Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
•Parboiling food, reducing sauces, and starting the first steps in various dishes
•Preparing food to be plated, plating and labeling meals
•Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash, and sanitizing the kitchen
•Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
•Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply
•Delivering meals to customers as needed
•Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager
LEAD COOK
Full-Time; Mon.-Fri. 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Duties may include some or all of the following:
•Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to the food service team and oversees the completion of tasks
•Trains and guides staff on job duties, proper food safety, and sanitation procedures, cooking methods, etc.
•Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
•Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
•Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
•Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knifes
•Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
•Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods for meat, vegetables, and other foods
•Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
•Ensures all scheduled meals are completed and delivered on time
•Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
•Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
•Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
•Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
•Orders supplies and ingredients for kitchen operations and coordinates pickups or deliveries
•Ensures security of company assets
•Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager
BANQUET SERVER (ON CALL)
Part-Time; Hours Vary - usually evenings and weekends but occasionally corporate catered lunches. Duties may include some or all of the following:
•Prepping & packing catering vehicle(s)
•Setting up equipment and food displays
•Serving food & drinks to guests
•Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
•Packing up & loading out of venues
•Unloading catering vehicle(s) and returning equipment and/or supplies to proper storage locations
•Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash, and sanitizing the kitchen
•Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager
