Scenes of destruction at 2031 Commercial Street after the January 22 storms.

Finest City Entertainment employees noticed water coming in from their loading dock. One inch of water flooded in from beneath a steel garage door. The team worked quickly, lifting items off the ground from room to room.

Once they reached the back studio, they heard a loud crash. Thousands of gallons of water from Sherman Heights drainage systems caved in the steel door.

In less than 60 seconds, the office was flooded with around 4 feet of water.

The water lifted and tossed furniture and appliances like empty cans. Employee cars were flooded and pushed into a corner of the parking lot. The FCE cargo van floated away from the building and had to be located.

Nearly 10 years of work was washed away in less than a few minutes.

It's a miracle that no one was hurt.

A bad situation just keeps getting worse.

was just one of the businesses that occupied 2031 Commercial St, better known as the San Diego Made Factory. Along with being a women-owned co-working space and event venue, it also is home to over 20 local small businesses, artists, and makers.

Finest City Entertainment is a complete loss, every studio sustained heavy flood damage.

💔 On top of this, almost everyone in San Diego is finding that their insurance company deems that flooding is an excluded peril and is refusing to cover the damages.

Finest City Entertainment was devastated by flooding in San Diego on 1/22. Like many, we lost everything and need help to fulfill our commitments this week. Seeking donations/lending of A/V equipment or unused electronics from SD's entertainment and film community.
