It happened again. God called me to assemble a group of artists to speak to an audience that deals with and has been impacted by Domestic Violence. I had on stage a ballerina now turned poet, a poet/visual artists, an educator author poet and then me. I told them how powerful they each are separately but when they come together it’s like creating an energy grid. Let’s just say the crowd ran out of Kleenex from our performance and I heard these whispers say “CI CI CI!” I want to believe those were angels cheering on our group during the Ntozake Shange “ For Colored Girls/Colored Boys” tribute we did in the beginning. It Looks like God won’t let me give up my first love, my theater group has officially started a new chapter “Hidden Bruises.” Our next stop will be Rooftop High School for teenage mothers. Go where the pain is and that’s where you will find your healing!

I've been holding in this good news since last year. My theater production UHT Presents "Toy Soldierz" was selected to the 12 Annual Downtown Urban Theater Festival in NYC. DUTF received 140 plays from across the U.S. and internationally from Canada, Egypt, Iran, Israel, London, Rio de Janeiro and Romania. My production made the top 15 cut that is getting produced and we were asked to open up the FESTIVAL! I am so grateful to God for the blessing and opportunity. I will be posting more info out as the Festival as the days get closer. Please pray for us as we prepare for our journey. And save your income tax returns to help us:>)

Toy Soldierz," work-shopped through Colored Ink has just been selected as a Finalist in this incredible Theater Festival taking place in 2014. We made the top 29 out of 140 scripts sent in internationally. If that wasn;t enough, it was announced on a pretty major theater website. I am like totally blown away right now. Last time this show was in NYC, my crew mate left with a daughter. God is beyond good. He is amazing. Jesus got the wheel. I'm just rolling:>)
