Honoring MLK: An Evening of Legacy, Love, & Mountaintop Dreams
Join us on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr’s death to honor his legacy, love and mountaintop dreams. The evening will include featured performances focused on visions for the future through dance, spoken word, and music.
King’s famous last speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” was delivered on April 3, 1968, the day before his death. His words offer us guidance on what is possible if we are able to see with a view from above and into the future. His visions weren't just of racial equality but also of a society that honored creativity, the Earth, and income equity. The event honors MLK's ideals as well as offers an opportunity for community creative expression around our own "Mountaintop Moments."
Please message Rebecca M Farrar or arrive between 6:45-7 p.m. if you would like to sign up for a three-minute Mountaintop Moment sharing.
