I think it was Sonja at that coined the term "grit and glamor," and if it's ok to borrow it, I think that's how I'd like to caption this photo. Dirty nails bring forth the prettiest ever. ⁠

Good things don't always come easy! Trust me, there's a lot of hard work, a lot of heartache and a lot of failure behind every pretty flower you see here. ⁠

The blooms we are harvesting now were planted back in November, and have been chugging along through the driest winter in California’s recorded history. Mostly, I just don’t want all the hard work and precious resources that went into them to go to waste, and I hope you’ll get to take some home from a farmers market, or have them delivered right to you through the link in my bio. ⁠

I’m growing some heirloom mums this year. Since I just started them from cuttings this past spring, I’m really only intending to grow the plants this year, and don’t anticipate having too many blooms available for sale, but if I’m a good plant mom this winter and I do a good job propagating them over the next year, there should be plenty to offer next autumn. So here’s a sneak peek at what’s going on behind the scenes.
