🎶✨ The Greek Odyssey Concert: A Tale of Musical Enchantment ✨🎶

The Greek Odyssey Concert unfolded as a spellbinding journey through the heart and soul of Greece. Julie Ziavras, a captivating storyteller, regaled us with the origins of her homeland's songs, weaving stories that echoed through time. Her voice, in perfect harmony with the master bouzouki player, Kostas Psarros, and the pianist and composer, Spiro Cardamis, created a symphony of emotions that resonated with every heart present.

With the majestic Rossetti Estate as its backdrop, this intimate setting transformed into a sanctuary for the melodic sounds of rich Greek music. The walls adorned with the exquisite works of art by Danielle Lehtinen added an extra layer of sophistication, making it an artistic masterpiece in its own right.

To complement this auditory and visual feast, the Gourmet Guys tantalized our taste buds with delectable, authentic Greek cuisine, transporting us to the streets of Greece itself. Every bite was a culinary journey in its own right.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Cathy Rist Strauch, Jessie Teevan, and Joseph Olivieri for bringing Julie Ziavras to this enchanting event. Their vision and support made this evening possible, and it will be etched in our memories forever.

An old piano, weathered and wise.
Its ivory keys, a journey they've seen,
From grandeur's heights to moments serene.

Once resplendent, a regal display,
Now worn and scarred, yet willing to play.
Fingers young and old, a tapestry of touch,
Creating melodies that mean so much.

Through years, it stood as a steadfast friend,
A vessel for melodies that mend,
Welcoming children with eager delight,
Their laughter and tunes, a symphonic flight.

Oh, the stories it holds within its frame,
Of souls who sought solace, hearts to reclaim.
Music, the language that knows no bounds,
It whispers of healing where it resounds.

In a world where melodies can mend,
Where broken paths can find a mend,
The piano stands, a beacon of grace,
Calling for unity in every embrace.

Though programs falter, and hate may persist,
The power of music, we must insist,
It weaves us together, a tapestry of sound,
With each note, a chance for love to rebound.

So let it be known, this old piano true,
Carries the hope we all should pursue.

Year 2023 plans to be an exciting new milestone for the Rossetti Foundation (RFAC) as we embark on a new phase to help strengthen our community. RFAC will be conducting in-person financial literacy workshops as part of our Life Skills program to be held at the Rossetti estate in Scranton. Our cohort will be made up of males 11-15 and 16-20 impacted by post COVID pandemic and who wish to break the negative cycles which can often lead to homelessness and recidivism. Our initiative differs from other workshops as we utilize art and music both as mediums to mitigate the effects of COVID isolation and risk and personal and financial growth. These workshops are free of charge. If you would like to get involved please contact us.

Highlights of the 2022 Murder Mystery event! If we didn't do it this year, next year we are planning something over the top. Also, don't forget to come to the 2nd Annual Holiday party on December 9th from 6-9:30pm. We will have a professional photographer so come dressed to impress. Our decorating party is on for December 1st at 6pm until we run out of hot cocoa or something of the sort. RSVP performers, soloist, chorus, etc. We usually end the night with everybody singing. It's quite amazing.

It was a true hoor to be invited to Albert and Lou’s 10-year anniversary AND the launching of the new ownership of Roberto’s Restaurant & Pizzeria located at 635 Luzerne St., Scranton. The main dish was a Timpano, A family recipe created by Stanley Tucci. It was delish. Wishing them continued success and beyond.

Greetings and Salutations.

We just wanted to thank everyone who applied for the housekeeper position. We received just under 100 applicants in 7 days. We are reviewing all of them, looking for someone who we think will be willing to grow with us and have fun in the process. As we grow and promote community events at the estate, we will need more help since this is a rather large house. We are always looking at ways to make the house more impactful for Lackawanna County.

This Saturday, the Steering committee will start to plan our 2022 community events calendar and we hope to see you. Some of the events will be versions of Murder Mystery Theater, Drag me to Brunch and a garden Sip & Paint.
