A mountainous trial lies just outside your front door.
We at Wolfpack Endurance Racing are excited to announce our first official endurance challenge: Heart Attack Hill Mount Everest Challenge.
The idea behind Everesting couldn’t be much simpler: run up and down a hill until you’ve tallied 8,848m of ascent – the height of Mount Everest. The reality is a relentless endurance battle that'll push you to your physical and mental limits.
Our mission with this event is to continue to support our partner, Compassion International. Please consider joining us as we tackle this together. (More information about Compassion and our current fundraiser can be found under the Get Involved tab labeled Compassion)
WHEN and WHERE:
This event will be taking place on May 29th starting at 12pm and continuing until 29,029 ft of elevation gain is achieved. We will be covering the Tolt Pipeline Trail segment known as, Heart Attack Hill, in Woodinville, Washington. This hill climb is a ¼ mile long and reaches approximately 237ft from the beginning gate to the following gate at the top of the incline. The idea is to repeat this section until 29,029ft of elevation gain is achieved. For those that don’t want to pull out their calculator that totals 61.24 miles during the event and a total of 58,058ft of total elevation gain/loss. You can’t just summit Everest and call it good, you must also make it back down to the bottom of the mountain.
Come join the Wolfpack this Memorial Day weekend as we take on the tough together. Don’t let the height of this challenge stop you from getting out and pushing yourself beyond what you know to be possible. Our vision is: working together to build community, overcome challenges, and restore hope within our world.
Let’s build a community of people who do not shy away from that which is hard.
Run with the pack!
The rules: To Everest, you need to log 8,848m of ascent on any hill, climb or peak in the world. You must do it in a single stint; breaks are allowed, and typical attempts take around 24 hours.
For your Everesting attempt, you must:
• Record 8,848m (29,029ft) of total elevation gain
• Follow one route on one hill
• Descend on the same route you climb
• You must complete the challenge in a single stint
• Breaks (eating, drinking, recharging) are included in your time
• You must reach the summit of the hill every time
• You must descend safely and get back home
• No time limit
Due to the nature of this event, we will be ascending in the dark for a portion of the challenge. Please be aware of this and be prepared with the proper gear including: a headlamp with extra batteries and proper energy to fuel your effort. Bring whatever snacks, food, and beverages you know you will need. There is a parking lot located directly at the top and bottom of the hill for your convenience.
For those that find this to be too big of a challenge to bite off, we’d love it if you’d join us for whatever amount of mileage and elevation you’d like to achieve. That could be anything from one full loop (½ mile & 474ft of elevation gain/loss) all the way up to the whole Everest challenge.
To join our event send us a message of the desired mileage/elevation you'd like to obtain and what time you'd like to start. We will follow up with all of the additional logistics including a GPX file of the route and GPS location of where to park.
