SO thankful to all of you who came out to our Hurricane Relief concert on Sunday. Such a great spirit in the room, with a wonderful audience. We enjoyed playing for you and are grateful to have raised $1200 + for theleaf.org and bountyandsoul.org who are working in W. N. C. to support people who have lost so much. Thank you to my bandmates (Paul, Mark, Steve and Licia) in the Saltash Serenaders, and to Silas Hamilton and Friends (Silas, Mark, Mark and Mowgli) and Spintuition (Silas, W***y, and Sam) for bringing your best to our ears!

Hello Supporters of Live Music! Please share this widely!
Our summer concert series may be in the rear view mirror, but we have more in store right here in Shrewsbury. Please mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct 27 at 4 pm at the Shrewsbury Meeting House and come out and support those who need it.
Our dear friend and fellow musician, Silas Hamilton, (who has graced our Shrewsbury stage many times) had a week's worth of gigs in N.C. cancelled due to Hurricane Helene's effect on the Asheville, NC area.
So what does a musician do when their livelihood is interrupted? They think of others.
Silas remembered that our dear friend Tom Mitchell, former Shrewsbury resident and fellow Serenaders bandmate, would ALWAYS prompt the rest of us to perform for a fundraiser concert for those who are going through major life interruptions and devastation of homeland. Whether it was in Haiti, or El Salvador or in the U.S., Tom would rally the musical troops and we'd do a concert.
Now is no different. So, in the spirit of Tom Mitchell, here we go! And we do hope you'll support the effort with your positive presence, your dollars, and your own spirit of taking care of those who have less than you.
Please join us. Free will donation.
All monies go to support theleaf.org and bounty and soul.org, organizations at work to provide relief in the western North Carolina region.

We're heading into our last concert this season,
on Friday, August 9 at 6 pm.
Noah Harley and the Roots and Shoots of Country Music

Come along for a special night of music that will feature two different sets. The first will delve into the history of country music—think Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, and maybe a lil’ Loretta for good measure. The second will be Harley’s original music, much of it inspired by the songs you’ll hear in the first set! A chance to hear some classic country and its modern interpretation. The trio features vocals, guitar, drums and bass.

Vendors: Sustainable Eats serves up dinner items and Pierce’s sells 802 Ice Cream Bars.

We've had a great turnout at every concert, with an appreciative audience giving as generously as they can to support live music, with contributions of any size (via cash, check or Venmo) going to the most excellent musicians and to the historic Meeting House (88 Lottery Rd) here in Shrewsbury Center, Vermont.

Please carpool when you can, and park in the lot and along the Meeting House driveway. Please Do Not park at all on Lincoln Hill Rd.

Hey All You Live Music Supporters!
We're halfway through our 2024 series, and it couldn't be going any better. We've had 110-150 appreciative good people in our audience at our first 3 concerts, giving as generously as they can to support live music, with contributions of any size (via cash, check or Venmo) going to the most excellent musicians and to the historic Meeting House (88 Lottery Rd) here in Shrewsbury Center, Vermont.

NEXT UP: Phil Henry and the Newsfeed / July 12 6 pm
SO excited to have these guys right here in our own backyard. They've played all over New England and beyond, and now we've got 'em in Shrewsbury!

Phil Henry is a singer-songwriter steeped in folk tradition, but not bound by it. Joined by Mitch Barron and Jeff Kimball, we'll hear a treasure chest of relatable tunes about both everyday, and extraordinary life, and backed by the Newsfeed on guitar, keys, mandolin, upright and fretless bass. Henry was recently honored as the 2023 Vermont Music Educator of the Year.

One reviewer wrote, "Phil Henry is that rare contemporary folk artist who will impress you from every direction. There’s his sweet and strong voice, that intricate and flawless guitar work, and songs so rich and sweeping you’ll wish you wrote them yourself".

Pack your own picnic dinner, or come hungry for our local vendor offerings:
Pierce's Store provides those delicious 802 ice cream pops, and Marble Valley Kitchen provides tasty entrees.

Please carpool when you can, and park in our lot and along the Meeting House driveway. Please Do Not park at all on Lincoln Hill Rd.

Next Day Thoughts:
Gratitude.
For Silas, Marc, Mark and Mowgli. For the expert way you lean back into traditional music and sway through the funky jazzy tunes as well, on so many instruments played so skillfully, with good humor and smiling faces. Good people. Hire them.

Gratitude.
For Aaron Korzun. Aaron Schneider, Paul Sgalia, Jean Marie Walker, Boaz Cohen, Thomas Hartigan, Silas Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, Marti Anderson who hang the banner, move the stage, direct the parking, get the bands' meals, set up the chairs, put out the parking cones, help with the signs, provide thoughtful perspective and friendship, take the trash to be dumped, arrange for the food vendors, etc etc. We could not do this alone.

Gratitude.
For our community of live music supporters who numbered 130-150 and bolstered up this grassroots effort with your dollars, dancing, joyful attitudes and voicing your own gratitude back to us. All the Thanks we ever need is seeing all that unfold at every concert.
Building Community is why we do this.

Please Come Back for the next....Friday, July 12 6 pm
