Sorry this is so late, but for those who don't know, and remember Josh from the Silvertree sales department, we're sad to report that he took his own life last June.

Joshua Bradley Miles, 48, passed away in West Jordan, Utah on 11 June 2021. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on 22 August 1972. Son of Paula Anne Campbell Miles of West Jordan, Utah and D. Wesley Miles and wife Leslie Carson of Maryland. Josh is survived by his two sons, Tanner

Yikes.

In case you were wondering exactly why CDOT has Indy Pass closed this week . . . This slide occurred in April. To prevent another, they’re removing dozens of truckloads of rock from the fractured cliffs above. Thank you, CDOT!

After 40 years, a Snowmass staple embraces final season

'Tis the season...

'Tis the season...

Have you noticed? They are here.

Who are they? They are those who don't know where the lines are on Main Street. They don't know that there are turn lanes. They don't know that in Aspen, men wear more Carhartt than fur, in spite of what "Dumb and Dumber" might tell you. (We bet they are warm, though, but we'll still stick with a down jacket.)

They don't know the speed limit is 20, maybe 25. They don't know that parking at City Market to go skiing really pi**es us off when we only want to buy milk. They don't know that yes, we really do walk on the sidewalks, not in the street, because...

They don't know that cars can't stop as fast this time of year. They don't know that all-season tires don't really work for all seasons. They don't know that the crosswalks are at the corners, but the signs are in the middle of the block so the snowplows can get around them.

They don't know that we'll probably give you a warning on the car stop, if you'll only stop yelling at us. But, no, there is no other "real crime" we should be investigating right now. They don't know that we really don't care if you pay our salary or not, we're doing our job. But just in case, can we get a raise?

Lastly, they don't know that as annoying as they can be, we still appreciate our guests in town, because they are what make this town's economy work. Thanks for coming. If we laugh just a little at your man-fur, we beg your forgiveness. We love ya.

Snowmass trail users are getting hairy.

We spotted this trail user on a wildlife camera. It’s ambling up Viewline Trail at Sky Mountain Park early in the morning on July 20. BTW, that string of lights is produced by a spider’s web in front of the camera.
