Join us on 6/28 for this month's show, our first Friday *out of* The Fox Den!!!

Since the summer months make our cozy living room a bit too toasty, we've decided to take the foxes out of the den for a series our outdoor backyard concerts.

This month's show will be hosted at in Highland Park!!

In honor of we will be featuring a fantastic lineup of LGBTQ+ artists including:

TONIGHT, 5/31, catch Nicole Aimi performing at this month's Friday at The Fox Den celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

Nicole is a half Filipina, half Brazilian and Irish-American singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. Raised in Houston, but originally born in Saudi Arabia, her unique sound draws inspiration from a variety of artists, including Stevie Nicks, Lana Del Rey, and Mazzy Star.

Ben Romero is a fingerstyle acoustic guitarist that specializes in creating unique arrangements of many popular songs, old and new. His arrangements are always handled with the utmost honor to the source material, and stylistic flare that make Ben stand out from most guitarists. Some of his best songs are"Just the Two of Us" "Billie Jean" "Glimpse of Us" "Kill Bill" "Rylynn" "Kashmir" and more!

This Friday 5/31, catch elisa ji performing at this month's Friday at The Fox Den celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

elisa ji is a Korean-American singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, CA. She makes melancholic bedroom pop with alternative R&B influences; her favorite artists include UMI, NIKI, Mahalia, and Kiana Lede. Her songwriting also employs tools she gained from her days in collegiate a ca****la as a vocal arranger and music director - her favorite way to write music is to lay down a simple chord progression on keys and start vocal tracking harmonies. She's always looking to meet fellow creatives to write or produce with, so please reach out if you want to work together!

Camille Zhang is an LA-based singer-songwriter and producer. She is dedicated to drawing in her audience with intimate vocals, organic instrumentation, and vulnerable emotionality. Taking inspiration from artists such as Billie Eilish, Beabadobee, and Jacob Collier, Camille aspires to create a sonic soft-pop universe filled with warmth and richness. She hopes to create a sense of connectedness and celebrate love through her music :)

TONIGHT 4/19, catch Jake Cassman performing at the 30th Friday at The Fox Den!

Jake Cassman (f.k.a Drunken Logic) makes music that echoes the raw energy of indie rock, the artful melodicism of power pop, and the thoughtful and vulnerable songwriting of the best Americana. And since he began releasing songs in 2013, Cassman has embarked on a musical odyssey that has taken him to intimate venues and major stages around the country, drawing in audiences with electric, eclectic performances, and songs that make the intimate seem epic and the political feel personal. Equal parts California dreams and East Coast grit, Cassman returned to his home state after seven years in Boston, settling in Los Angeles in 2018. This year will see the release of his debut LP, Idling High -- a staggeringly ambitious and disarmingly honest record that showcases Cassman's wry humor, acute observations, and deep compassion.

Tomorrow 4/19, catch Tina Mathieu performing at the 30th Friday at The Fox Den!

Tina Mathieu is an indie alternative soul singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles. Her versatile songwriting and textured vocals give an angsty Alanis vibe with nods to the quiet storm of Sade. With over a dozen song placements in film, TV (NBC, Bravo) and national ad campaigns (Dove, Masterclass), Tina landed a spot with Lifetime Films featuring her debut single, Downward Spiral. She followed that with the release of her emotionally raw EP, A Safer Place, taking a deep dive into the waves of divorce. As an activist for several social justice initiatives, her politically charged tunes have been used as calls to action for protests, rallies and campaigns around the country. Tina is also one half of the positive-pop project, Real Fiction, which has been featured in campaigns for Suave and Dove. Tina's latest collection of sad folk/soul songs, This Blue Shall Pass EP, as well as her newest single, Put It to Rest, are available now on all music platforms. Tina is currently in the studio working on her first full length album exploring the journey of coming into her q***rness later in life, set to be released in 2024.

Mariela is an indie rock project formed in 2017 by Nashville producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Rachel Hall. After relocating to San Diego in January of 2022, Hall met drummer Jules Stewart and bassist Jules Whelpton and an electric power trio was born. Mariela tunes are characterized by introspective melancholy lyrics packed in candy coated hooks so sweet they’ll make your teeth hurt.

Abby Lokelani is a singer-songwriter and multi instrumentalist. Born on Maui, she has called many places home including California and Boston, where she studied at Berklee College of Music. With a unique fusion of acoustic and electronic sounds, Abby’s poetic lyricism and ability to weave between genres sets her apart. She is inspired by musicians like Elliot Smith, Lorde, Yebba, Fiona Apple, and the Beatles. She independently released her EP “The Inevitable” in 2021 as well as two singles, From the Grave and Heaven and Hell in 2023. With vulnerable lyrics that echo forbidden feelings, Abby strives to give a musical voice to the emotions that get bottled up and ignored within us.

We're so excited to host Emily Anderson this Friday at The Fox Den on March 22 celebrating Women's History Month!

Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily Anderson’s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. An Alaska grown award winning songwriter, Anderson has recently released a sophomore record, “Salt & Water”. Her single “Gold” was featured in a national Miller Lite campaign and a number of her works have been featured in video games (Calico, The Stars Between Us). Her music is akin to Regina Spektor ruminating over coffee with Phoebe Bridgers.

Destinie Lynn is a multi-talented singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. Destinie’s music works within the American roots tradition, or what she affectionately refers to as “porch music” taking influence from the Delta Blues, Indie, Folk, and Americana. Destinie’s voice is a rich, mellifluous tapestry evoking the affecting sensibilities of blues, jazz, and folk singers past, while her lyricism has been described as nuanced and literary-minded. Destinie writes soulful, often haunting songs that dive fearlessly into love, loss, and mortality; songs that highlight the daily struggles of the soul.

the fox den story

this space became known as “the fox den” after my roommate and i moved in because of her affinity for foxes and their prevalence during the autumnal season. also, “fox den” is the female equivalent of a “man cave” according to urban dictionary. as a singer-songwriter myself, i have always enjoyed performing, especially in front of attentive and engaged audiences. while i love to play in venues, there is something incredibly unique and intimate about playing acoustically and playing in homes. after attending a number of house shows hosted by friends, i felt encouraged to host one myself. the reception was pretty overwhelmingly positive and i am really fulfilled not only by sharing my art, but creating spaces and community for artists to come together. so it’s become a regular series, and i hope to keep it going as long as possible.
