MaryBeth and Colin Smith are pursuing their buying spree. After recently acquiring Sparks-based Franco Baking Company, which serves Port of Subs, and opening the high end Smith and River restaurant two years ago, the owners of the Roundabout catering brand, the Tannenbaum event center, the Cafe at the Nevada Museum of Art, the Tesla employee cafe, the concessions at Reno Ice and the Meadows Event Center in Fernley, the couple has now acquired the Virgil events center at Wells and Vassar.
A group which included Rachel Macintyre, now the Activation Coordinator for the City of Reno, had opened the Virgil in 2021 after the 1920 constructed building had been sold for $1.4 million in 2019.
MaryBeth Smith also lists herself on LinkedIn as the CCO at NeoLight, LLC, “a medical device company focused on best in class technologies for treating preventable conditions in the newborn care market.”
Colin Smith is the “corporate chef for 16 Escape Lounges in airports across the U.S., including the one at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport,” according to the Roundabout website.
Roundabout describes itself as a “catering and event rental company providing services for weddings and other occasions” at venues such as Rancharrah Village, The Elm Estate and the National Automobile Museum.
It also serves school lunches at Bishop Manogue and Sage Ridge.
