Does our team set up ceremony backdrops?
The answer is yes, with a caveat. Our primary job as a wedding coordinator is to coordinate your vendors. This means I'm the lady with the clipboard, making sure everyone is doing what they've been contracted to do. Our primary decor job is to set up your small personal decor elements, like the welcome table, table numbers, candles, framed photos, cake topper, signage, etc - anything another vendor wouldn't be contracted to do.
So where does that leave the ceremony backdrop? Well, normally a florist and/or rental company are contracted to set up the backdrop. This means it falls outside of the normal decor we plan to set up, and we don't necessarily have time to set up a full ceremony backdrop during a standard setup plan. If the couple DIYs their flowers or needs us to physcially assemble the backdrop, we have a small add-on fee, just to accommodate the additional time and/or extra set of hands needed to cover this major project.
We're always happy to fill the gaps that other vendors may normally handle, and we only have upcharges to cover time and staffing (and so that couples don't pay for these uncommon aspects in our standard pricing). If you have any questions, we're happy to chat about what setup is included, and what may be an added fee.

Less than 3 weeks left until our Summer Showcase! If you've considered working with me, this is a great chance to see me in action - I've had the opportunitiy to design the decor inspiration and select the 20+ vendors who are participating in this showcase weekend. The design will be playful and bright, the vendors are super talented, and the cows are making me giddy. It's gonna be a great time and you won't want to miss this.
I serve all of North Carolina and the surrounding states, and many of the other participating vendors do, as well! That means this showcase is great for folks getting married all over - but you get to meet your perfect vendors while enjoying a perfect mountain backdrop.

It feels bonkers to think that we've been married for 7 years - some days, it feels like we've already been together for a lifetime, other days I'm reminded of how much we still have room to learn and grow together.

I especially loved this subtle ombre design we created with TG Floristy, from orange to peach to cream.
Simplicity can be beautiful, and it lets your intentional choices shine through. The bud vases, peach votives, and vintage water goblets complimented each other perfectly. We loved designing every detail of this wedding!

It's National Relaxation Day, and one of the easiest way to relax on your wedding day is to sit at a sweetheart table.
Your wedding day is a whirlwind of activities and people, and it's hard to slow down and focus on each other. A sweetheart table lets you sit alone during dinner, without being too far from your guests, and it creates an opportunity for you to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Time flies when you're having fun, and it's somehow been a whole year since this board-game lovers' wedding!
J&K were married at home, and they kept things beautifully simple. They hired Carolina Party Partners to manage the drop-off buffet and serve up drinks, and they rented beautiful tables and lounges from Cottage Luxe, so guests could casually lounge and explore the house, playing different games in each space!
I especially loved the guest book with dozens of fun stickers to choose from, and how the couple truly made the day about their relationship and what they love to do.

The flower bar and glitter bar at this music festival wedding was one of my favorite interractive guest activities... like, ever.
Guests came dressed for a lovely summer wedding and had the chance to pump up the festival vibes in their attire by bedecking themselves with body glitter and flowers to make crowns and embellishments.
The guests loved this unique activity as much as I did, and I'd love to see more ideas like this at upcoming weddings.

3 Easy Steps to Write the Perfect Vows
Step 1: Discuss the Vows with Your Partner
You can still keep the contents a secret until wedding day, but we recommend discussing the length, tone, promises and presentation as you prepare.
Step 2: Do Your Research
If you're not a natural wordsmith, the last 450 years of recorded vows have plenty of inspiration to pull from, as well as poems, books, songs, and movies you love.
Step 3: Start Writing
Sit down with a notebook and totally forget about writing vows. Instead, just write about your person! Jot down some of your favorite memories together, moments that helped you grow together and fall in love, highs and lows that stand out on your timeline.
From there, you'll have plenty of notes and ideas to wrap your heartfelt thoughts together with a bow, ready to make your partner feel all the feels on wedding day.

The Bardot
August's Peridot birthstone has playful vibes, and we used it to inspired a Young and Free Peridot and Earthtones wedding design. The shoot, which featured the light green color in multiple areas, included copper tones and playful elements, which were perfect for a Gen Z couple who were fun and flirty for their wedding.
To bring in a modern flair, our model bride wore three dresses throughout the shoot, which started at Bella Collina Mansion, a Tuscan-inspired venue, followed by a trip to Downtown Winston-Salem, where the couple lives. The peridot and earth tones really shown through, not only through the jewelry, but on the cake table and sweetheart table.
One of my favorite moments was when the couple brought their cat to the evening shoot! We also loved giving the groom a lapel corsage instead of a boutonniere, because everyone looks great adorned with flowers!

Would you get married at an art museum?
The North Carolina Museum of Art is a stunning space to host an event. The property itself is beautiful, and I love the diversity of photos the couples can get because each wall is a different backdrop.
Not only is the setting gorgeous, but NCMA provides guests an opportunity to explore the galleries, serving as entertainment as much as a venue.
This couple came all the way from Phoenix AZ to get married at NCMA, even though they have no personal ties to NC. I'd say that's a pretty great endorsement to host your wedding at this museum venue!

We're moving into back-to-school season, so here's a big shoutout to all the teachers getting ready.
This bride is a teacher who was excited to celebrate her wedding surrounded by her school community. I love how many of her colleagues are important to her, and boy did they show up to celebrate.
As you plan your wedding photo shot list, make a note of any important groups you want pictures with who may not be on the standard list of family and wedding party. Coworkers, friends from college, and social groups you're part of are definitely worth capturing for your wedding gallery.

Happy Friendship Day! 💛 Toasts are a great time for friends to celebrate the couple on a wedding day.
I love toasts, and unpopular opinion... the more the better! (multiple short, not a long ones)
Close friends and family often want to give toasts because it's a chance to shower the newlyweds with kind words and happy tidings. This couple even had an open mic for extra folks to come share a few nice words - and since they hadn't prepared a speech, most were 60 seconds or less, enough to keep folks laughing and shedding happy tears instead of snoozing.

A planting unity ceremony is such a special way to start a marriage - to plant a seed that will grow into something beautiful, to add a foundation of healthy soil and water, is a wonderful metaphor for marriage and how we must continue to water the roots of our love to grow into something greater than ourselves.
What's needed for a planting ceremony?
- a planting pot, mostly filled with soil
- a seed for planting (this couple used an acorn)
- 2 containers of soil (this couple collected soil from each childhood home)
- a watering can

Holly & Lucas hosted a stunning wedding in the mountains 2 years ago, with an unconventional style and a whole lot of fun.
I loved their use of dried grasses in place of florals, and the black and coral color palette was boho and edgy for this fun summer wedding.
Although we had to enact a weather plan from the rain and high humidity, The Shiloh has a stunning wall of windows overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains that keeps the mountains as the backdrop, and the rain stopped long enough for their portraits.
One of my favorite elements of the wedding was their buffet receiving line. We created a backdrop next to the buffet line entrance, and as guests stood up to get their food, they first had the opportunity to take a photo with the couple! This worked particularly well because the couple ate before any guests were released.
