Garden update 9/15/2020. We lost some of cucumbers and squash to the frost we had last week. The plants are not doing well in the thick smoke we’ve been having for the past few days....hopefully we can harvest more tomatoes before the next frost. We grew sugar pumpkins this year for the first time. They are doing great. We harvested about half of them this week. We left the gigantic ones on the vines for later harvest.

Garden update 9/6/2020. Tomatoes are ripening. The melons are getting bigger. Many spaghetti squash looking for their home. Some winter squashes are ready for harvest. The peppers are everywhere... Asian pears are ripe and sweet, apples are almost ready. Peaches are (strangely) not ripe yet.

UPDATED Hurricane Harvey Update! Wings of Rescue in conjunction with our GreaterGood.org Freekibble and Rescue Bank has 3 hurricane Harvey evacuation flights scheduled beginning Monday. On Monday we depart Lafayette Louisiana carrying 88 dogs and 20 cats to San Diego. On Tuesday we depart San Antonio carrying 100 dogs to Oregon and Washington and on Wednesday we will be carrying 100 dogs from San Antonio to Morristown, New Jersey. These pets had all been in shelters prior to the storm . We will be livestreaming video starting at 7:30 A.M. C.D.T. By flying them out displaced dogs from the flooding in Houston and western Louisiana will have safety where they can be reunited with their family. We will be flying many emergency rescue flights this week. and need you to help us save pets who have been caught in this disaster. If everyone who sees this skips Starbucks and fast food eateries and instead donates $10 we can fly 100 pets every day this week to safety. Eric and Kayla's wedding went very well. That makes four weddings to date! So now we're thinking of taking this to the next level and creating a wedding venue and special events destination. So, what is the maximum folks that we could host at Otterhaven? What upgrades will we have to make? Any and all ideas are welcome... if you got an invite to this page you already have expressed optimism about making this happen! ;~)
