With Friday the 13th approaching, it got us thinking - the horseshoe has been a symbol of good luck since ancient times. While we don’t give as much credit to superstition as our ancestors, gifting horseshoes and using them as part of our Big Day is a tradition many still adhere to. It is said that gifting a used horseshoe, cast from iron, symbolizes a perfect marriage of fire and earth, enforced by the horse’s strength and energy. The horseshoe can also be combined in the “Something old…” tradition in all its ways: you can use or borrow one - passed down, you can be gifted a new one, or incorporate it into your day with some blue flowers or ribbons!
