The most Important part of a Plant is its roots. What you See above ground only tells half the Story. The Roots anchor the plant in place and create an environment that most people don’t get to See. Healthy Roots are necessary for Growth but Recognizing the signs of diseased roots are just as important. Anything can be Reversed. Here’s some tips to keep roots healthy.

1. Allow the soil to dry out. This allows the plant to Breathe.

2. Remove all browning. Separating the dying parts from the base is important.

3. Remove old soil. Yep! Get dirty! Pull that plant out the old pot & gently shake those roots off. Rinse lightly and prepare it for a New environment. Remove as much of the old soil as possible. (I like doing this part with Bare hands. It helps me to ground & gives my intuition a chance to work.)

4. Repot Using New soil. Fresh soil guarantees that any diseases or bacteria they may have formed will be removed or unable to grow in the new environment.

5. Release it back to its environment & watch it Thrive. Repeat if necessary.

Roses taught me that no matter how beaten up something may appear, underneath the dead petals is New Life. Removing the layers of worn out & dried petals can produce a brand new flower.

Don’t be so quick to throw away the old petals. Place them in a safe spot & be patient. Before you know it, those beaten up petals have a new meaning & a million different uses. Check back to find out how I use dried rose petals.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of crafting some very special pieces. One of my best friends entrusted me with her wedding bouquet. I was terrified!

The look on her face when she finally got to see my creation was everything. That was the day I knew I could do it. I could exist in ways I never thought possible.

Vines & Vibes (LLC) is more than just a floral business. It’s a journey. One that I’ve been reluctant to share. Almost 15 years ago, I got a summer job in a flower shop and it became my peace. I’ve always been a child of flowers but that summer I fell in love with the process. From unboxing a bundle of fresh flowers to witnessing the joy they bring once they’ve reached their final home.

Since that summer, I’ve grown to appreciate the intent and authenticity that goes behind each creation. Each stem is cut with care and placed with Intent. Every plant is potted with Passion and watered with Purpose.

For the first time, I’m opening myself up and inviting y’all on my journey to not only get to know me through flowers and plants but to challenge me to exist and create in spaces that I didn’t feel good enough for.
