Dreaming and scheming for next season. ✨ Would you believe these are all Florida grown flowers? It’s true! The dahlias and lisianthus are from and the rest from my garden.

Locally grown, eco-conscious flowers are my creative constraint and they provide a structure for one-of-kind designs and installations for your special events and editorials.

This installation was created using several clear plastic reusable bins, which I filled with reusable chicken wire. Not only is it better for the planet than single use plastic floral foam, it’s better for the flowers. Giving them the longest vase life to enjoy to their fullest.

What’s better than bespoke, organic bridal party bouquets? 💐 Bridal party bouquets being repurposed as centerpieces for the reception. 🔁 Repurposing is one of the ways that puts our value of sustainability into action. But we don’t stop there. After the wedding, we make sure to donate or compost your wedding florals so that nothing goes to waste. 💚

First choice best choice. was one of my first brides and I always come back to this bouquet. There’s something about our first instincts and design choices that really shine through. I used primarily native flowers and foliage to create this fall bridal bouquet.

Last shots of the garden before slowing down for the summer. 😎 We really need another word for the seasons here in Florida. “Summer” just doesn’t hold the same meaning. It’s giving me siesta season, stay indoors in the AC season, it’s time to hibernate season. Am I getting close?

Very grateful for this flower life. 🌸 This is the end of my 4th season, and there’s lots to celebrate: beautiful weddings, my first art shows, delightful relationships new and old, and literally thousands of beautiful blooms. I’m still processing it all, and will continue to during summer hibernations. But very grateful.

I really wanted to create a ritual to mark the end of this (my 4th!) growing season. So when I received the timely gift of incredible dahlias from it felt like the magic fairy dust I needed. I called up my dear photographer friend to mark the occasion with a portrait sesh in the garden.

Now on View Artist Announcement ✨ Kali Rabaut brings her Flower Bike to Now on View for a build-your-own-bouquet experience. Rabaut’s bike holds enough flowers for 50-500 people to create a small bouquet to take home at the end of the day. At Hotel Haya June 1.

Art in Bloom is the ‘s signature spring event which showcases the museum’s collection in full bloom with dozens of floral designs inspired by the art and galleries. Floral interpretations will be displayed in the museum’s collection galleries and gardens Thursday, March 24 – Sunday, March 27 and are included with admission. This year is the 25th anniversary of Art in Bloom!

Such a joy to be a part of this celebration at I felt so at home in this venue full of native plants and water views. As I placed my aisle marker flower arrangements, I giggled to myself with delight. It looked like I harvested from the plants on site to make these designs- beach sunflower, coontie, sea grapes, and more.

🏝️ We’re on our annual Ft DeSoto camping trip until Saturday, March 16. It’s gonna be weird not playing with flowers for a whole week, but it’s much needed! I got my new ukulele, a few books, and a hammock. So I think I’ll be ok.

TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY 💌 “We used Blue House Florals for our wedding, and couldn’t have been more pleased with how everything turned out! Until finding Kali and Blue House, we were having a really hard time finding a florist who didn’t have a super high floral minimum or alternately wasn’t super cagey about their prices/packages. Kali was amazing from the start. After our first phone call, she shared an absolutely incredible proposal, complete with photo inspiration and pricing details, outlining exactly what we were looking for. She also priced her work really honestly and transparently based on what we wanted, instead of using a flat rate or template price. We had a unique request for our venue - The space had warehouse-like rafters that we wanted to dress up with some vines and greenery. We sent Kali some inspiration pictures, and she created the most beautiful installation that we’ll enjoy for years in our photos! The bride’s bouquet was perfect, and Kali also made a matching floral collar for our pup Callie! We so appreciated that she used native plants to Florida (aside from the baby’s breath which we requested), and we LOVED that she donated and composted the florals at the end of the end night (and sent us pics!). We had an amazing experience with Blue House Florals, and would strongly recommend them!”

It’s raintree pod season. 💫 These pink pearlescent pods pack quite a bunch in designs.

Floral designers spend a looooot of time prepping and planning for the moment you receive the flowers for your event. We aim to create that look of effortless designs, but BTS are tons of recipes and sketches just like this one.

These wildflower bouquets stretched me outside my comfort zone, and now they’re all I want to create! We used mostly all native Florida flowers and foliage including: coontie, beauty berry, beach sunflowers, liatris, goldenrod, and so much more. Wildflowers are tiny, but mighty. They pack a lot of textural punch, and have the added benefit of providing food and habitat to native creatures of all sizes.

We’re starting a garden at my daughter’s school, Graham Elementary. If you want to dig in and help a garden grow from the ground up, come volunteer with me and the Graham-ily! 🪴This Saturday, August 26th at 8am. We’ll be mulching the future garden space to s***f out the weeds, and build healthy soil.

Quick tip: Planning a wedding in Florida’s fall and wanna use local flowers? Here are some local flowers in season in November- celosia, marigolds, goldenrod, and zinnias. They come in lots of different colors ranging from bright and bold to soft and neutral. One of my super powers is growing these beauty myself. 😏 so you get a truly bespoke experience, as we plan from seed to bouquet. 💚

My fav wedding of the year! My SIL tied the knot and it was a beautiful weekend at the beach. 😎 I remember was the first person I saw put eucalyptus in her shower, so I knew I had to include some euc. She also has an amazing succulent garden, so I harvested from some neighbor’s gardens for some succulents. Then I finished it off with some lisianthus and everlasting statice for a classic bright, beachy finish. Our hotel room was full of flowers and our hearts full of love! Congrats, Emily & Nick!

One of the many reasons I prioritize organically grown flowers- my kids. Our garden is their playground. Flowers surround our home, and these little hands sometimes like to help me plant and cut. So no thank you to harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. 💐
