We just got back from our road trip to Las Vegas for the annual !! We had SOOO much fun sharing .com with our friends in the wedding industry that we’ve been a part of for 25 years.

Our superpowers is creating delicious and beautiful cakes and desserts that make your events memorable. And it’s so much fun to wade even deeper into the industry with Himaya Garden and Events venue. Hosting High Teas, parties, weddings and other fun community events is our jam!

A big Thank you to our friends FiftyFlowers for sending us home with the most beautiful fresh flowers for our photoshoot and high tea this weekend. Stay tuned and see what we will do with them.
Most of all Thank you to our Celebrity Cake Studio team for making this all happen for us!

Now vs Then

It’s crazy how much a year can change things. In a lot of ways, it felt like a long time because we were waiting for what felt like forever for our Kurapia to grow. In the scheme of things though, a year is such a short amount of time to get the grounds of Himaya to feel alive again. Now that cooler weather is coming, we’re excited to continue planning, planting, and nurturing Himaya to grow our garden to what we know it can be 💛

Here are some current pictures sitting next to pictures from a year ago and boy can we feel the difference. It’s gratifying to know that all of our hard work is making a difference we can see!

If you want to see our garden and our cute indoor tea house, come join us for afternoon tea on November 17th! Or check out our website for more information on bookings and tours (link in bio 😉)

This is how it happened:

We were hosting an open house/ Grand Opening Himaya Garden Tucson with for Oct 23 and Milana and I decided to host a Filipino Heritage Month celebration along with that.

And I went to Tucson meet Yourself, a local cultural fair and met some amazing Filipino dance group led by Myla Kekaka and invited them. They invited another dance group!

And now we have an emcee, (Laura Carson) so I bought a speaker system and a mic and stage lights. And I’m going to make some pancit and adobo with rice!

We’re having a fiesta at Himaya! If you’re in Tucson, come on by from 5-7pm TOMORROW! We’re super excited 💛💛

Our grass is so green and our trees are so happy!!!

It’s take an LONG time for our Kurapia to grow in properly, but with the heat and the Arizona sun, we’re finally starting to see it’s potential!

We planted Kurapia almost a whole year ago, after learning about how it’s a drought tolerant ground cover that has really deep roots. Unlike Bermuda grass, it doesn’t have to be reseeded over in the winter and in the summer time, Kurapia is a pollinator, covered in thousands of tiny white flowers.

We bought more tombstone roses and other fun, beautiful plants that are going to look amazing! Nature takes its time and we’re being patient to see what beauty Himaya has in store.

If you haven’t already, check out the link in our bio to reserve a space at our next Filipino Inspired High Tea! Seats are filling quickly and we’re excited to celebrate Filipino American Heritage Month with you!

Look at our Kurapia!! Loving the summer heat!

Having the ability to visit family this summer is such a blessing! We were given Papa Joe’s old recipe book that’s traveled all over the pacific at this point with his hand written recipes.

There are some old favorites in there that we’ve forgotten about and are excited to try again!

Himaya Garden: Embracing Filipino Heritage in the Heart of Tucson
Welcome to Himaya Garden, a family-owned venue that brings the warmth of Filipino heritage to the heart of Tucson. Founded by a Filipino family, Himaya Garden is a tribute to our Cebuano roots, evident in every aspect of our establishment and the very heart of our business.

Mother and daughter duo Odette D'Aniello and Milana D’Aniello, are third (and fourth!) generation bakers with a deep connection to their family's bakery on Guam and in the Philippines.

Growing up, I also felt a lot of pride in my heritage as a second-generation Filipino American. The strength, beauty, resilience, and joy of my family and my community often felt overlooked, unseen, or underrepresented despite Filipinos being one of the biggest Asian populations in the US and the first Asian immigrants to the United States. With a lifetime of experience in the events business, we've brought our passion for creating unforgettable experiences to Himaya Garden. We wanted to showcase our deep connection to our heritage and pride in where we came from while sharing our culture and aesthetics with the community.

At Himaya Garden, we believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. Our mission is to not only showcase the exquisite flavors of the Philippines but also to provide a relaxing and inviting environment where lasting memories are made.

Our dedicated team is here to greet you with a warm welcome, ensuring your celebrations are filled with joy and authenticity.

While we embrace our Cebuano heritage, we also take pride in offering a venue that resonates with the diverse community of Tucson. You can experience our unique blend of cultures not only within our walls but also online and in markets across the nation through our Dragonfly Cakes and Petits Fours brand.
