Party at Hot Rod Garage Slot Cars! Tired of the same old party ideas? Are your kids too old for a cheesy mouse party? Are you worried about spending money for kids to play violent video games? We have a great idea for a kid’s birthday party. Throw a "Slot Car Racing Party" at the Hot Rod Garage Slot Cars in Walker, La. We offer a safe, clean, bright environment where kids can have fun and experience the thrill of racing without any risk. No prior experience needed. Every party has a "Race Coordinator" who will instruct the guests on how to use the slot cars and the "Rules of the Road" to ensure all guests have a memorable experience. This would be a great birthday party idea for boys and girls. We supply 8 cars and 8 controllers on our eight lane track, dedicated to the event. We give the kids an orientation about operations, track, cars, and then turn them loose. With 8 racers and a party of 10, the other kids not driving are Turn Marshals who retrieve and return the cars to the track for the active drivers. Drivers and Turn Marshals rotate positions at the direction of a "Race Coordinator". The kids quickly learn that racing your car is more fun than running after the car you just crashed. As the groups rotate in heat race sessions, the racing gets more intense and is scored on the computer where it sorts out who is the top racer. Who ran fastest laps? Who stayed on the track without crashing? Who won that last heat race? Who is the best driver here?? Your party guest will love competing to be the race champion. The Garage is not open to the public during party times and all parties will be private during your schedule times. No overlapping parties! Check out our Party Packages below. We lost a great guy today. Robert Valantine “big Red”passed away today. We didn’t know him for very long but man what a guy! From his infectious smile to his hip swinging while racing there was some much to love about this old biker from Cali. In my opinion one of the most underrated slot car racers there was! The hobby is greater for having him but a huge lost losing him.
We will try to have a memorial race in his honor soon.

What great day of racing ! This race was comulalation of years of work on this black snake road course that Gerald Troxler Sr. rescued from a barn in Tennessee 4 years ago. He has put so much time and money into restoring this killer track most will never know ! After fighting some gremlins for months this year we finally have great working track. We have several states represented today for the race. I can’t thank everyone that made the trip and took the time to come hang out and break this ole gurl in. Greg Gilbert has been a great asset and advocate for our track and race program. He’s bringing back a great family oriented hobby most don’t know about. We are going to work with 2 other near by tracks to put on some races to show case each track and its racers in the coming months.
We raced 4 classes today with full fields with great results. The Hawk 25 retro classes featured 9 racers. Robert Valentine “big red” took 1st over Dave Madar who took 2nd and John Clow took 3rd. The NASCAR class consisted of 10 racers and Red took 1st again in this class John Clow took 2nd over Greg Gilbert. Things really started to get cooking when we put the LMP cars on the track. We had 11 racers in this class and it was intense. Wayne Thomas was able to squeeze out 1st place in this tight field. John Clow grabbed another 2nd place over Greg Gilbert. The last class was bonkers to say the least. The GT12 class was absolutely crazy fast but it was way more intense. These were so fast and planted to the track that we had very few wrecks and less stoppages. Gerald Troxclair actually broke a record lap time on 5 of the 8 lanes but just couldn’t get to the podium. John Clow for the first time today wasn’t the bride’s maid and got the #1 spot in this class. Wayne stayed in the winners circle again taking 2nd place over Greg Gilbert. Once again I want to thank everyone that came and raced and helped make this a very fun and successful race. Justin and Bob Hatcher from Slidell were very helpful and showed me many things about how to structure these races on the software. I really appreciate the help they have given us.

What a great night to start off the spring fling. We had 15 racers and 120 cars. Some of the tightest racing we have had in a long time. Kelty Lowery took the W over Herbert Champagne Jr. Caleb Mumphrey came out of retirement to get 3rd place. Great night of racing as usual. We will see yall at Rat Rod Garage tomorrow in Jackson Ms to finish this fling out !!
