We are gearing up for the '24-'25 school year, so just wanted to share some "extras" that will help make our TWO Floral Design classes even better! 1st Grader ⭐Carson Horton⭐ won Floral Designer of the Day @ Fall Festival this year~We finally celebrated her WIN! ThisGirl is a NATURAL-picking out her own flowers for each vase & arranging them Beautifully! Carson created arrangements for several *special* Ladies in her life & a special 🦄 one for herself. We also made sugar scrub & a wristlet corsage. This was a first for our Floral Design class & such a FUN afternoon! Thanks for spending time with the Carson! 💙🤘💐

Our FIRST Bloomin' Longhorns - GISD Floral Design Field Trip! SO. MUCH. FUN!! We toured the Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, which were absolutely Stunning! We enjoyed the Beautifully shaded, scenic views, especially the floral accented ponds with Koi Fish & the green stroll/turf area. A sweet Garner Family treated our group to an excellent lunch at CiCi's! We finished our excursion with a short trip to FiveBelow- this part may have been Mr. Carlton's FAVE! (see all pics below) 🤣🤘

CONGRATULATIONS to April's Floral Designer of the Month⭐Jade Smith⭐! Jade is a Mega-Talented Young Lady who excels in CREATIVITY! She is a talented member of our Art Program-Digital Arts & Animation, as well. Jade has been a solid Designer this year, leading by example through her work ethic & always going above and beyond in all she does. Jade created this Beautiful Mother's Day spring arrangement for Superintendent, Mrs. Hallmark. We KNOW Hydrangeas & Stargazers are some of Mrs. Hallmark's faves-saved the best for last!😘 We are excited Jade will be returning for Advanced Floral next year! Thanks Jade, for all you do! We are proud to have you on our TEAM!💪💐🤘

Bittersweet...this was our LAST Flower Club Arrangement of the school year!😢 Our TEAM worked w/ Stargazers, Hydrangea, Tulips & Waxflower and learned a "new" arranging technique. They also created unique, custom bows for each arrangement, by researching DIY tutorials online. I didn't get pics of them prepping, but it was amazing- completed professionally, on their own & in record time!💪 Hope our customers enjoy & have a great Mother's Day weekend!

Our Floral Designer of the Month for ~March 2024~ was awarded to ⭐SOPHIA LINO⭐! This young Leader could have received this recognition since day one! She is always on task, works hard, helps in any way she can and is also extremely talented! Sophia is an exceptional A-Honor Roll student & involved in our Beta program. She also excels out of the classroom playing Volleyball, Softball & running Track. Sophia made this cute "Strawberry Fields" floral arrangement for GISD Superintendent, Mrs. Hallmark. Thanks Sophia for all your hard work! We are proud to have you on our TEAM!🤘💐💙

Our took a little break from the *real* blooms & created some Fun, Fake ones!💐Students researched DIY tutorials for their learning style, coordinated colors, and decorated their pots. Learning different ways to use pipe cleaners & coordinating bright colors are actually important skills for floral design...just don't let the kids know this was a REAL lesson!🤣😜

Jacey is always eager to help anyone, with any task. She also excels in Basketball, Volleyball & Track!💪 Jacey is super creative & is always a "top pick" to help with any special orders we may have. We used fresh pressed flowers & greens from around campus. Added some twine & a flickering votive light, for a finishing touch. Always impressed by their creativity & patience! Be sure to watch the video in the comments, too!🫶💐🫶

A special guest visited our last week! *Sherry Cook* is a local community member, who serves as the Secretary/Pastor's assistant for Bethesda MC. But did you know she has also been a Professional Florist for over 30 years??!! AND...her beautiful wedding flowers were featured in a Hallmark movie "The Wedding Gift"- So Cool! (Of course we HAD to watch the movie as a class before she came to visit!😎) Thanks Sherry, for teaching our Designers how to create wristlet corsages! We had a BLAST & learned so much!🫶

The cutest BayBee🐝Shower for *4* of our Longhorn Staff members~ Miss Keelie (Designer of the Month) picked 2 TEAM members to help us create these shower arrangements. Can't beat Large, Vintage Mason Jars filled with beautiful Hydrangeas & Sunflowers💛 Zoom in to see the cute lil bees added. Great job Ladies! Thanks for your help! ⭐⭐

🍭 Candy Blooms🍭
Another "first" -of course Our Team ROCKED IT, as always!💪They made Candy Blooms (for themselves😉) on Valentine's Day! They picked out their own container and got to work! They did so well, we plan to sell these for VDay next year. This may have been one of their FAVES! 💕

💕Sugar Scrub- VDay Style!💕
FUN project! Had to call in reinforcements- BIG thanks to my Sis, for coming to help us!🫶 Our sugar scrub is made with Sugar, Sunflower Oil, organic flavorings(same ingredients as Conversation hearts😘) We didn't have time to make very many, but I think the kids enjoyed getting to take some home. Sure do LOVE this Sweet Class of mine!🤘

Pinecone FireStarters: This was a "progressive" project that we've worked on in our small windows of down time over the last couple weeks. Using recycled crayons & BIG Beautiful Pinecones from East Texas... We finally completed them & gifted them to our *Gentlemen* Staff & a few others😉 Enjoy!🌲

That's a *wrap* on our Christmas arrangements!🎁This month was a little challenging with our Designers having exams and being involved in ALL the things... but they worked so hard & pulled it off! We created over *50* Christmas orders-super proud of all of them! Cool thing is we also used ALL donated/upcycled clear vases, which made them each unique & budget-friendly.🎄Merry Christmas Bloomin' Longhorns Fans! We'll see you next year!💚❤️
