The play takes place over 24 hours in three separate cottages on the grounds of a large hospital in the United States. Within the three cabins are three patients: Joe, Brian and Felicity, who are to live with their respective families as they have reached the end of their treatment. They have agreed to be part of a psychological program where they live within the hospital grounds and have interviews with a psychiatrist.

WCJC offers scholarships through its drama/theatre department. Remember, our program aims to help you discover your hidden talents. You don’t need to be a drama student to apply, but you will need to audition.

To audition, you will need to:
1. Reach out to the WCJC Drama/Theatre department to express your interest.
2. Fill out the Scholarship application (QR code is on the poster). Here you will submit the completed application, a brief resume, and a recommendation letter from a former theater teacher.

Students will find our program appealing when comparing the quality and costs of other schools to our college's low cost and personal one-on-one teaching environment. It costs $3000 to attend a four-year college for 15 hours. At WCJC, 15 hours equals $500!

After completing the drama program at WCJC, you’ll be well-prepared to pursue a bachelor’s degree which can open doors to roles such as an actor, teacher, designer, director, and so much more.

Fall registration is now open! Contact us for more information!

Rehearsals for the upcoming show, Bess Wohl’s “Small Mouth Sounds,” are underway!

“In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, this strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life’s biggest questions when words fail us.”

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

The Drama/Theatre Department at Wharton County Junior College is offering scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year.

Each year, we award a number of endowments and full dorm stipends to those individuals who exhibit a spirit and a desire to learn more about drama and theatre. These scholarships are open to all students and all majors. Again, they do NOT need to be a major to apply.

We look forward to being able to talk with you about your interest in theatre and our department. Please contact one of the instructors and we will send you more information about the department and discuss the many educational opportunities WCJC can offer.

You all know the classic murder mystery story. There has been an untimely death at a country manor, everyone is a suspect, and an inspector is set on the case to find who the culprit is.

After benefiting from a large and sudden inheritance, the inept and accident-prone Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society embarks on producing an ambitious 1920s murder mystery.

However, when this play is performed by the accident-prone thespians, everything that can go wrong…does! The actors and crew battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Over the course of an hour, expect a plethora of disasters from missed lines to falling props.

From "Mischief" and "Mischief Theatre," the creators of the West End smash "Peter Pan Goes Wrong" and the critically acclaimed TV series "The Goes Wrong Show," this is the original one-act play which started everything going wrong. This version of the play originally premiered at the Old Red Lion Theatre in London in 2012. Since then, it has expanded into the Tony-winning Broadway hit "The Play That Goes Wrong" and has taken the world by storm and has been performed in over 35 countries across 5 continents, winning multiple awards.

Can they get the production back on track before the final curtain falls? Do you ever find out who murdered Charles Haversham? You’ll have to see for yourself!
