Today we shine the spotlight on SAYUKI LANE!
Sayuki is a senior at Wilton High School who has been an involved at Trackside for the last 3 years as a Coach for Preplay. This year Sayuki is most looking forward to coaching more pre play shows, and to participate in all the music related events at the high school. Sayuki is insanely talented and always smiling! She brings her incredible personality at every Trackside event and we cannot wait to see where Sayuki lands in the future! Fun Fact, her favorite color is green.
When we asked Sayuki what makes Trackside special to her, she replied “It’s a special place to me because everyone here is so fun to be around, and are committed to making it a safe place.”

NEW OFFERING ON TUESDAYS THIS WINTER!! Led by Wilton parent, FINRA registered, investment professional, Mark Fields.
How do we hold on to our money and make it grow? In this exciting, intro to the stock market club, students will learn how the stock market works, and what makes stocks go up and down.
The Stock Market Game:
Teens will pick their own stocks and manage their own real-world simulated portfolio. Each week we’ll talk about what happened in the world, the markets, and our stocks, and why they went up or down in value. We’ll decide what changes to make to improve performance. We’ll talk about fundamentals, technicals, industry sectors, diversification, long/short, cutting your losses and letting your winners run.
The goal of this club is to have fun while developing a sense of how to manage money & how financial markets really work!!

Today we would like to shine a SPOTLIGHT on TEEN LEADER ELI PATANIA!
Eli is a senior at Wilton High School who has been an involved at Trackside for the last 6 years!! For the last two years Eli can be found in our back of house, cooking in our Snackside Cafe Kitchen where he knows the orders of kids before they ask! Eli helped restart the cafeteria program after years of inactivity, and re-established a functioning food service at Trackside.
Eli plans to pursue a Baccalaureate in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics and intend to earn an M.B.A. in Financial Engineering. Eli is most excited about College decisions, “the idea of being accepted into a prestigious university, even if not my top choice, has excited me deeply for the past few months.”
Fun Fact: Eli can use a trumpet to imitate the sound of a V12 Ferrari.
When we asked Eli what makes Trackside special to him, he replied “Trackside is the beginning of my week, and it makes every Monday more tolerable. It’s a break in my day that, while productive, is also fun. It gives me an opportunity to engage with people of a much different group of people then I ever usually interact with. It’s an opportunity to be social outside of the academic world which would otherwise be rare in Wilton, where most of the clubs are school sponsored.”

Join us in spreading holiday cheer, making magic and memories!
We’ve partnered with the YMCA to help host their annual Pancake Breakfast. This year will be TWICE AS NICE.
Enjoy pancake breakfast, storytime with Mrs Claus, pictures with BUDDY & SANTA, and a winter wonderland of craft activites.
All proceeds benefit the Melissa McFadden Scholarship Fund.
Be sure to bring your donated items for our Buddy Bags. We’re collecting blankets, books and toys to benefit the DVCC. Even if you’re not attending the event feel free to drop them by!

Yesterday was our final IN TOWN TUESDAY FOR FALL! Thank you Fit Body Boot Camp in Wilton for hosting our Teens!! Dylan and Melly shared their stories and even how to use the TRX. Our teens were obsessed with the flooring and wanted to show off some of their moves.
Lots of great information was shared about the importance of staying active, eating right, getting rest and about being a business owner.
The biggest take away for the teens was how important it is to greet people look them in the eye and use their name!
Can’t wait for the trips to start back up in January our line up is looking awesome!

This season we had a new offering Mock Trial run by teen leaders Sara and Anagha! (Both will be returning to lead in the winter, registration is open now)
On Friday they invited parents to be a part of the jury to oversee a trial of Feeline vs Pest…. was Feeline’s cat Sur Lixxalot poisened by Pest?!
The verdict was No! Can’t wait to see the trial next session.

Shining a SPOTLIGHT on our Leader Tom Stofega!
A senior at Wilton High School who has been a part of Trackside for the last 5 years. Tom can usually be found in our Snackside Cafe cooking or taking orders. He is extremely helpful with our gamers on Thursdays setting all the gaming stations up and planning tournaments. Tom also helps with our summer camps and movie nights.
Tom would like to pursue something in sound engineering or marketing. He is most excited t0 have senior privileges this year. Fun Fact: Tom is very involved in the high school music program and has also been a video game enthusiast all my life.
When we asked Tom what makes Trackside special to him, he replied "I love how inviting the environment is and it's a very comfortable place to be."

We got an in-depth, behind the scenes, personalized tour. The kids asked awesome questions. The experience was one-of-a-kind.
This is part of our “In Town Tuesdays” afterschool program for grades 6+
Teens visit local businesses and orgs. They meet the founders, learn what it takes to run a biz or work in a particular industry, and are exposed to a wide range of potential career opportunities. We love this new signature Trackside offering.

Wilton’s Teen Treasure
Trackside, the Teen Center of Wilton is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on serving the unique needs of teenagers during their most vulnerable years. Wilton is a town of approximately 18,000 residents located in southwestern CT, just north of the Merritt Parkway. Wilton is a suburban community that is a blend of commercial businesses and private residences. Trackside was founded in 2003 after the historic Dana House was donated to the town of Wilton for the express purpose of creating teen center has grown to be one of Wilton most loved treasures. Opening to our teens in 2004 after extensive renovations, Trackside has ensured that 15 years of Wilton’s teens and tweens have had a safe, drug and alcohol-free place to call their own. When not in use by our teens, Trackside is also an highly versatile rental facility for the community.
We strive to provide safe, supervised alcohol-tobacco and drug-free place where Wilton’s Teens can gather to socialize after school and during special events. Trackside is the “third place” in addition to home and school where teens can develop their social skills and benefit from a safe, unstructured environment.
2019 Teen Programs & Event Highlights
Student Governing Board (HS and MS) – Hearing what’s important and of interest to the teens, directly from them is one of the core beliefs of Trackside. Interested teens can apply to join the Student Governing Boards who meet bi-weekly to discuss events, ideas and needs for the different groups of teens and then work together to bring them to life.
The Fold – Our newest High School program is modeled after NYC’s “The Moth”. This program creates a coffeehouse setting for our teens to share their stories in their own words and in their own way.
Friday at the Movies! – Every Friday afternoon our MS students vote on a movie to watch on the Big Screen.
Video Gamers Club/ Tournaments (HS and MS) – While the games themselves may change, the popularity of playing video games after school for both high school and middle school teens is a constant.
MS Improv Club - High School improv comics mentor younger teens in the art of Improv and work with them to develop interest in skills in this exciting and fun filled comedy field.
Green Teens – In collaboration with the Wilton Garden Club and Wilton Youth Council, Trackside is excited each spring to kick off our Green Teens Program where teens prep, plant, tend and harvest our Neighborhood garden. All veggies are donated to the Wilton Food Pantry.
Rising up Series - Connecting teens in ways that help share important and meaningful information about major transitions, such as entering Middle School, High School and College… from those who have most recently lived it.
Adventure & College Trips - Teens travel together to experience the sights, sounds and culture of a historic city or to visit multiple colleges to help them prep for the future.
Safe Rides – While technically a separate nonprofit organization, Safe Rides and Trackside exist hand in hand. Safe Rides consists of HS student volunteers who ensure their peers have a safe ride home each weekend.
