The Texas wildflowers are amazing!!!

I was able to spend my weekend at a friend's ranch in Texas this weekend, and I was once again in complete awe of these flowers. I think I said a few different times as I was taking photos of them that their is just no way to capture how incredible they really are. It doesn't matter how great my camera is or what settings I choose or how I process them through Lightroom...these are moments that just have to be experienced.

As much as I love (an appreciate on a business side) our image driven culture, I want to remind us all that looking at photos of nature or adventure will never come close to the actual experience. I encourage you all to find yourself slowing down and enjoying these beautiful creations that are all around you. Be in awe of how they grow without the help of human hands. Without limits all over our parks, side streets, and highways. What a gift we get to have each day to experience these beautiful gifts.

I am always inspired by their ability to grow in any condition and to show up each and every year ready for their moment in the season. I love their natural and unique beauty, each different from the next. I love how the colors work perfectly together. I love that the Lord is their gardener and that we get to sit back and enjoy all He has created for us.

Here are a few photos I took of these wildflowers. They don't do them justice at all so go outside, take a quilt, a book, your family, your favorite snack/drink, and really experience these Texas wildflowers. It's the very best view you will find.

Bluebonnets have been so much fun!!

The wildflowers are also showing off right now, so let me know if you want pics w them! I just wanted to show that I’m alive and well on the socials and let you know I’m open for the summer.

Good morning! I have been checking on my bluebonnet patch the past few weeks and I'm getting so excited!

Last Tuesday, I took a short video and some iPhone photos to show you their progress. See those below in the comments below.

Since they are looking so great, I am opening up a few more dates because I am ready to get started doing one of my favorite things ever : ). Either comment below if you want one of the open spots (first come first served) or fill out the google form. It is time stamped so I will take the first few who fill it out. I am super excited about this! As you all are aware now, I’m a big fan of Savannah Haynes. I met her when she was in elementary school and I have constantly been blown away by her hard work, grit, kindness, and just overall love for life.
Over the years I have had a lot of cool opportunities for fundraisers in the community. The lens I tend to look through when deciding to be a part of a fundraiser is “How does this fundraiser benifit children and families?”
The Boys and Girls club is an incredible organization and it deserves all the attention and funding for what it does in this community.
I recently was doing some photos at the Arlington Life Shelter this past December. While there I asked alot of questions. (Maybe don’t get stuck next me anywhere bc I tend to have alot of curious questions about all things…) One of my big questions was “Do all the kids in the shelter go to the same school? How do they get to school? Does the bus come by if they go to different schools?” I loved the answer they gave me.
The Boys and Girls club sends a bus to pick up all the children at the Arlington Life Shelter. They go to the Boys and Girls club before school and then are taken to their individual schools. One reason for this was to allow the children in the shelter to not have to explain why they were living in the shelter or to have to handle any unfair biases due to living in a shelter. They didn’t want them to feel embarrassed or to even have to explain anything. The Boys and Girls club had stepped in to give these sweet children the dignity and respect they need to go to and from school each day in a safe environment, free from any judgment.

This is the heartbeat behind these fundraisers going on right now with sweet teen girls in Arlington. This is a great organization and opportunity for us all.

These photos are for groups, singles…whatever. A few ideas:
A portrait doing something you love (guitar, trumpet, music notes, playbill, volleyball, basketball, baseball) holding up an “I love you mom” sign or somone you love (Mother’s Day is coming!!), grabbing all your kids or adult BFF’s for a few fun photos, throwing on your Taylor Swift gear and throwing up those (awkward to me) finger heart signs, family photos, just your little kiddos…heck a pregnancy or college announcement!

Whatever you do for your photo just remember, it’s really all about supporting an incredible organization that is giving love, dignity, respect, and a safe place to just be a kid.

Ok, Bluebonnet Sessions are live, yay!!

I wanted to make these a little more exciting so I am adding in a few professional prints as well as your own little packet of wildflower seeds...because I think we all need to experience the joy of watching flowers grow at home 🌿🌱🪻🌷🌼and we all need to display these photos in our homes so we can look at them everyday 🙂📸🏠

This sermon by the late Reverend Martin Luther King is one that always stirs my heart and causes me to examine my own conviction’s. He was a man of deep conviction, passion, and a faith that could move mountains. You can feel the emotion in his voice. He fought for justice, peace, equality, and love. He deserves more than one day a year to honor. May we all be stirred by his desire to bring justice and equality to the world and may we use our voices and our lives to fight for justice and equality everywhere we go.

Intentional.

My word of the year. This word covers how I want to live, how I want to direct my mind and actions. To live intentionally means I’m living on purpose. It means the things I’m thinking about, the things I discuss, the books I read, the food I put in my body, the art I create, the photo sessions I capture, the playful time with my children or moments of difficult conversation with them, or late night discussions with my husband have intentionality behind them. The questions I have for the random stranger at the grocery store are intentional to better connect with them.

The truth is that we are all so much more alike than we think. We are all experiencing highs and lows and mundane on a daily basis. We know this place is hard to navigate. We all want to have it all together and spoiler alert…we don’t. We all need to feel loved, connection, and a place to belong. We long for this. We need each other. We need each other to point us back to Jesus in it all. We need each other to make it through it..and to laugh about it all some too.

So intentional will be my goal. To look up and around. To notice. To think. To do. To say.

I’ll be intentional because I live each second for the most intentional God. To the colors of the sky at sunset, the beauty of a field of wildflowers, the diversity of His people. The creator is so very intentional for me so I will be to Him.

So all of this very intense post (sorry…I get intense about my faith 😬😬I’m also always up for an impromptu dance party, especially if it involves Beyoncé, Janet, and Whitney lol!! )to say that I’m very excited for this year.

Here’s to being more intentional and more impromptu dance parties. I’m off to make my playlist now. 🪩💃🙌🏽🙏🕺🤣
