Dreamland Theater is a small non-profit Puppet Theater and community space for artists, located in downtown Ypsilanti.

Since 2002 Dreamland has offered a variety of original entertainment including puppetry, live music, experimental theater, comedy, and local independent film. As a puppet theater, Dreamland offers performances for both children and adults which utilize innovative new techniques as well as traditional puppetry practices from around the world. Dreamland's Mission:

The Dreamland Theater's mission is

to facilitate creative expression and to serve as a resource for community enrichment by offering performances, exhibitions and classes for local residents and community organizations. Through innovative programs Dreamland Theater will:

+ Present a diverse range of original and traditional puppet shows featuring a variety of types of puppetry with roots from around the world.

+ Provide a venue for a variety of types of artistic expression including but not limited to plays, music, independent film and art exhibition.

+ Provide classes in puppetry and other art forms to give community members of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to create and share ideas.

20 years ago today, January 1, 2002, Dreamland was born. We hosted an open mic night that very first night, and we have hosted so very many strange and wonderful events since then thanks to a community of amazing creative people. For this anniversary year we have started a project to document the history of Dreamland.

Thanks so much to everyone that has been a part of and supported Dreamland over the years!

Anyone want a piano? It plays but needs to be tuned and one key isn't sounding. The legs need to be re-attached too. That being said, it's free is you want it. We need it out of Dreamland a.s.a.p.
